Reviews for BiXi Beer in Chicago, IL
Probably one of the worst dinner experiences I’ve ever had. Our waitress was extremely rude and did not greet us till about 15... minutes after we sat. When the food was brought out, none of the items were announced, and some people ended up eating otherpeoples food. Normally restaurants will announce the food as they put it down on the table, especially with a group of 10people. Instead they just came out and plopped the food in the center of the table without telling you what it was. Several ofus ended up, accidentally eating the vegetarian eggrolls because we did not know which ones are which. Which we don’t have tore-order so he would have an appetizer to eat. Also, we had two pregnant mothers with us for dinner. One of them ordered aburger and asked that there be no mayo on the sandwich to put it on the side. It came with mayo on it anyway, and the bun wasall soggy. We asked several times to have a replacement bun sent out to the table for her. I felt so sorry for the hungrypregnant friend as she was the last person to finally get to eat. Most people already halfway done with their food by the timeher bun arrived. The food was subpar and did not have great taste. I would not recommend visiting this establishment. Icertainly will not be coming back here in the future. Read more
Great food very nice lounge style atmosphere. It’s very ‘traditional Chicago vibe’ by this I mean a small upscale eclectic... vibe locale with a selective menu and local small batch brews. The outdoor part is supposed to be even better, but hard to getreservations there as of now. If it smells very herbally or organic it’s probably the live moss wall. We sat not too far fromit and that was the first thing we smelt. I liked the smell, but it’s not for everyone. Read more
The food here is absolutely stellar and the shifties lager is so crisp and refreshing. There's so many diverse flavors... throughout this menu that I don't even know where to start. The bixi Mac burger isn't the best in town but it's pretty damndelicious. Lettuce on a burger is always a big no-no to me mainly because it always ends up wilted and gross half way through(but hey, great take on a big Mac). Other than that, it packs a wonderful cheesy umami flavor that doesn't disappoint. The frieswere super fresh and crisp, nice and salty without being over powering. Reminiscent of McD's and possibly better. Lastly, thedessert they just added to the menu hit all the notes (Thai peanut sundae). The peanut butter ice cream pairs well with thesaltiness and spiciness from the peanuts. The fruit keeps is refreshing and light on the front end while the caramel sticks tothe back of your spoon making you wish there was more. I've been here 3 or 4 times now for small meals and I don't think I'llstop. The ambiance of the place is great and outdoor rooftop seating is pretty much the norm here. Love it all. Read more
Some places are only pretty and some places only focus on their food. But I can say that this place managed to do both. It was... so pretty at the atrium. Lots of natural light and airy feel. There were other rooms you can walk into and take pictures at too.The food was amazing. I got the drunken noodles and it tasted so flavourful. It was on the spicier side, so if you cannot handlespice then get something else. Its someplace nice and quiet. A quiet getaway from the cold too. Read more

I'll start by saying I really wanted this place to be great. It was a hot weekend in Chicago and my party had made reservations... for inside and we were sat outside in the sun. The wait staff was really friendly but pretty inattentive. We had one carafe ofwater the entire time we were seated. I understand the inside may have been a bit full but I didn't feel like the place wasswamped. The cocktails were pretty tasty, but a bit pricey. The beer was better, and definitely what I would order given thechance to do it all over again. The food was all hinting at bigger bolder flavors but fell a little short. My favorite dish wasthe crepe. My least favorite were the dumplings and chili oil. The soba noodle salad was alright as were the fries. The Bao waspretty good but not worth the price for one bun. The kimchi was pretty good but I've tasted similar from an Asian grocery. Allin all it was a really mediocre experience and it left me kind of sad. I was pretty excited based on the menu and location, butit felt at every turn there was a stumble. I know this place can do better. You can tell. Read more
First time trying and not disappointed. Open seating indoors and Lauren was a great server. Beer selection was on point and... wings and fries were even better. Shared the chicken sandwich and yibin style noodle. If you enjoy spices and flavor this is theplace for you. Definitely plan on coming back. Read more
