My bf and I tried this for the first time last Wed night. When they we?re getting ready for a pig roast for the following... Saturday. Heron, one of the owners was behind the bar and couldn?t have more pleasant. The food was awesome. Bf had the JuicyLucy. We could def tell that it was flame grilled. He loved it. I had the Cincinnati chili. It?s vegetarian chili and I didn?teven care. It?s that good. Everything is made in-house, down to the ketchup and hot sauce. If you don?t try this place, then youare missing out! Oh, and get the pie. It doesn?t matter what kind of pie. Just get the pie! Read more
I'm sorry to be posting a 1 star review mainly because I see how many great reviews this place has. It made the experience my... friends and I had there this evening quite the negative surprise. First off- Our server who was also the bartender was verycool and nice. I want to make sure thats known. The problem started when we all ordered the same burger. The ones for my twofriends came out first. We were told that mine would be out any minute. While waiting, one of my two friends began to eat andfound while her burger was slightly charred on the outside it was raw on the inside. Not rare, but raw. My other friend checkedhis and it was the same. In the meantime, my burger had yet to arrive. They sent theirs back and roughly 10 minutes later minearrived and I checked it first. Raw on the inside. At that point we chose to refuse other options as the just plain ruined ourexperience. The server refused to charge us for what we had (Two sodas, a beer and one appetizer) which I thought was a verynice thing to do and I tipped her, acknowledging that it was not her fault. There are entirely too many great options for foodin Chicago for me to ever consider eating here again. Any cook that screws up burgers this badly should find another job, preferably having nothing to do with food service. Lets not forget the potential health issues related to undercooked food aswell.
