I'm a musician who just played at the Beat Kitchen and wanted to give a shout out to Jay and Patrick who delivered an excellent... night to us. None of the artists were particularly high profile and they still treated us with great respect. Jay, the soundengineer, in particular, was super helpful and patient. My amp was NOT cooperating and looks like it may need some repair workapparently. He did a great job of trying to assess the issue and ultimately revealed a hidden Traynor that saved the night.Patrick, our production manager / coordinator, was also particularly friendly, helpful, and available. Thanks to them we had agreat night as the talent. On the bar side, my whiskey sodas were definitely on point. Not hard to mess up, but amazing how manyplaces manage to do it anyways. Thanks, BK, for being the Chicago mainstay you are. Read more

It truly WAS an experience! First visit to Beat Kitchen for my friend and I, and we caught the act playing in the "hidden" space... upstairs... a stage above "The Stage". As you walk into the front portal, just open the odd, matte black door, just to the leftof the main bar, head upstairs, and, you'll find yourself immersed in a quaint, yet appropriately weird, room with a "welcome toyour childhood living room" vibe. It's a smallish, inconveniently shaped, quirky-cool, yet intimate, performance space. Oh, andyou absolutely need to do this while digging the music of Extraordinary Popular Delusions, who perform regularly on Mondaynights, for TIPS! If you need to change your world view, this band is literally mind-blowing. Read more

I love it here all around except idk what they?re doing different but the speaker setup for shows has me losing my hearing... anytime I go. Like ears ringing for 2 days. I go to a lot of shows & no other venue has that kind of effect consistently Read more

Came for Mathcore Index Fest, pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The blackened catfish sandwich with avocado and... spicy mayo is really solid. The side salad was on the larger side and they didn't charge extra to swap that with fries, which Ialso appreciate. The dining section wasn't too crowded, despite the music festival. I was able to order food, eat and pay within20 minutes. Read more

We came to watch The Rare Occasions one weekend. The venue was really easy to find, even being out of state. Staff manning the... entrance were friendly and kept foot traffic flowing. The show itself was amazing and the venue was better than some I've beento. It was a warm Chicago night but inside the temp never got unbearable or even uncomfortable. Wish we had ordered food but weweren't too sure how late the kitchen stayed open. Read more

Good location on river walk with an interesting menu. Be prepared, it's pricey for what you get but you pay for the lactation... and a variety of fusion menu items. Shaded seating on the river was fun. Read more

Went to Beat Kitchen last night to see a live performance. Great experience all around! The venue (located downstairs)... accommodated a crowd of us in a smaller, more intimate setting. Drinks were surprisingly affordable and tasty. Looking forwardto coming again! Read more
