Reviews for Baobab BBQ in Chicago, IL
Great service, staff was very friendly and helpful! The biltong salad was an amazing combo of flavors and the pulled pork was so... tender. I believe a remarked to the BF that I wanted to bath in the whipped potatoes. On top of all that it was very fairlypriced. We will be back! Read more
This place is fabulous! We tried the sampler so we could get a bit of everything. Brisket was succulent. Chicken was flavorful.... Pulled pork was delicious. The ribs...THE RIBS! We'll be ordering a full slab over the next few days. Holy cow (pun intended)were they exquisite! They also donate a portion of their proceeds to local schools, specifically feeding teachers. The best partis the customer gets to pick which school they want to donate to...so I get to feel benevolent while tackling my plate full ofmeat. Read more
Got the BBQ combo platter to split and everything was fantastic. The pulled pork was moist and Smokey, and the ribs almost had a... smoke ring all the way to the bone. The coleslaw was a great addition as it wasn't too heavy and the house pickles were crispand tart. The you could actually taste the bourbon in the bourbon sauce, and garlic sauce was unlike anything I've had before.Peppers and garlic simmered in oil for a few hours was a great topper to everything we had. Will definitely be back! Read more
First time here and I'm blown away. Service is fantastic, they make sure you're well taken care of. Ambiance is clean, classy... and inviting. But the BBQ is top notch, way better than I've come to expect from Chicago BBQ. Brisket, Mac and cheese andcornbread were all beyond good. If I wasn't so full I'd give the dessert menu a shot. Great experience, I'll be back Read more
Ordered takeout here. I think from the description on their website I was expecting some unique flavors.....but my pulled pork... sandwich with monkey gland sauce just tasted like generic BBQ. It was good, but nothing I would rave about or recommend topeople. I got mashed potatoes and baked beans as my sides.....the potatoes were good, the beans seemed to be only flavored withpepper. Also had the Malva pudding for dessert....I?m pretty certain it was way over cooked because it was more like a dry warmcupcake than a pudding. Would I eat here again, probably...would I seek it out or recommend it as something unique? No. ??????????? Read more
