Reviews for Au Bon Pain in Chicago, IL
UIC seems to have an issue with hiring rude staff in their restaurants. While I?ve had mostly okay interactions at this cafe,... yesterday I had an interaction with a worker being accused of grabbing an extra cup for my soup and stating I would have to payfor the cup. I asked her to just remove it, I did not realize there was 2 and apologized. She antagonized me and I told her Ididn?t realize I had a second cup and she acted as if I was trying to make her day harder. Most of the workers at this locationare warm and inviting but I truly do not understand why this worker felt the need to antagonize a college student over a papercup, I also believe I?ve interacted with her at the register before and she is the only one that will not greet you or givesimple customer service. I understand it is most likely just a minimum wage job, but the negative attitude is potent andsomething that seems to be common across all UIC food staff. Read more
Terrible slow and rude service. I asked if the salad station was still open and was told yes but the person working it was on... lunch. I asked if they could make it for them since they weren't on lunch and was told no. Lmao what a joke. Read more
One star is one star too many. Terrible service, ridiculous prices, plus they don't accept gift cards. No reason to EVER stop... here. Read more
The food is pricy as most places are at UIC. They have pretty good bagels and pastries, but the regular & strawberry lemonade is... the best ????????. The lemonade is a must try. Read more

The downtown Randolph location is closed. We located Au Bon Pain at Illinois University Behavior Health building. You have to... park at paid lot across street. Service was lively and staff was very informative.Food was how we remembered.Michigan use tohave a few locations (we don't now). Spinach Croissant was very tasty. The soups are hearty and flavorful. The chopped saladbowls are the best. Well worth the trip. Read more
