Food is extremely fresh and flavorful. I had the curry chicken katsu and tornado fries. Very large portions - I almost always... finish all of my food at restaurants, but had enough for 2 meals from this. Menu has a lot of interesting items, will definitelytry to come back. Read more

Alpha Eats on Clark St in Lakeview serves up stellar Hawaiian ????food. I went with the special Mochiko chicken which comes... with mac salad, rice, and cabbage along with an order of spam katsu musubi. Mochiko chicken is fried chicken thighs that havebeen marinated in garlic, ginger, and rice flour. The spam katsu musubi were my definite favourites though. Read more

Came here many years ago without really knowing the city and was so excited to stumble upon it after moving to the area! This... place has not changed at all in the best way. The food is still just as fresh and different! I love this place because itexplicitly says it does not serve pineapple or poke? the Americanized stereotypes of Hawaiian cuisine. It does, however, boast ahuge menu of interesting dishes and sauces! The tofu katsu is breaded/fried and comes with a delicious sweet/tangy sauce. Themochiko chicken has a really nice texture (doesn?t taste too fried more like broasted) and is really good with a side ofteriyaki sauce. The BBQ chicken is grilled and that has great flavor! Really loved the hurricane fries (don?t skip), the TofuKatsu, Mochiko Chicken, and the Shrimp with BBQ chicken plate (not pictured)!! Read more

Fantastic experience and delicious food. The menu is extensive and if you haven?t been to Hawaii (like me) make sure to ask... questions. We got the hurricane fries, pork katsu curry, spam loco moco and spam katsu musubi. Hurricane fries were deliciousand a decently sized portion. The sauce X furikake combo straight slapped. Pork katsu was delicious and honestly PLENTIFUL. Imean we?re talking like 2/3 meals no joke. I ordered a side of curry and gravy. Curry was on the spicier end and tbh was myfavorite. The gravy was also very good, tangy but on the sweeter side. Wish they could do half half on the katsu but it?s servedon the side. Loco Moco was good and looked delicious. Didn?t try it personally so can?t say a lot more ha. The drinks werefantastic. I mean truly delicious in flavor but not overwhelmingly sweet like most sodas. Also as my friend said, the spam is?literally a block of rice? so don?t order it as a side thinking it?ll be tiny ????. Will definitely be back and this time, hopefully try some of the less fried stuff on the menu ha Read more

The food was so good and well worth the wait. It is definitely made-to-order. I had the chicken katsu which was crunchy and... flavorful. My sister got the mix plate and was as equally impressed (unfortunately I didn't get a picture of hers). The cashierwas friendly and helpful. I will certainly be back the next time I'm in Chicago. First time diner, stopped here for lunch. We ordered chicken/beef combo, Pork/beef combo meals and spam musubi. That's the Spam... Sushi type roll. The food is delicious! The restaurant seems to have a great turnaround. The service from the young lady behindthe counter was pleasant, knowledgeable and patient. When I'm in the area, this is a must stop. Read more

The absolute best. They are very flexible with your order (all mac salad, all the time) and though delivery doesn't always go... well, they will make things right. They have very generous portions and wonderful staff and I love everything about them. TheBBQ mix plate is easily three meals if you make more rice at home. Other plate lunches are at least two meals. Mahalo! Read more

This place was cute and the juice they serve was great but the chicken I had was very chewy. The flavors were really good but my... mouth hurt after the third piece. Read more
