Reviews for Terry Bison Ranch Resort in Cheyenne, WY
We had planned to stay 3 nights but we had problems with our truck. We willbe staying 7 days. Every single person we have met... here is beyond fabulous, welcoming, and able to assist us with anything. We have eaten at the steakhouse multiple times and itwas beyond delicious. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a ranch experience with great staff. The Bison train ride waswonderful. And we really enjoyed all the animals. Read more
This place is amazing!!! The train ride tour was absolutely awesome!! Our conductor Conner was great and fun! We got to feed,... pet, and kiss some bison. The crew at the gift shop were sweet and nice. The staff at the restaurant were great too. Overall wehad a great time and for sure will be back! Read more
Very nice, clean and quaint little RV/cabin/camping resort. Easy to locate off of I-25 and once you pull in it has an adorable... old west feel. A little town greets you upon arrival, and even has a "jail". Spaces for trailers/RV are nice sized with ampleparking. Only draw back I could see which I'm not sure how they could do much to correct unless they were to do asphalt orconcrete, but the roads leading in and out had HUGE potholes in the dirt so you need to pay close attention. A regular car maydisappear! If you are looking for a place to watch the sunsets, this is a great place for that, as well. Read more
Run down. I can see that it was probably very nice 10 years ago, but the maintenance is lacking. The first cabin we were put in... looked pretty nice and was clean, BUT HAD NO AIRCONDITIONING. It was 95° during the day and easily 100° in the cabin. Theygave us two fans, but the screens were in disrepair and the biting flies had easy access. We requested (begged) and were movedto a different "cabin" which was actually a run down trailer with "logs" built around it but it was cooler. Additionally, do NOTplan to eat there (except for breakfast although it's pricey). The food at the Senator's Steakhouse is very expensive and poorquality. Greasy ribs, steak that's mostly fat and gristle. POSITIVES: It was great fun to feed the buffalo, my grandson went ona pony ride and loved it, caught his first fish, fed the Llama, rode the train, was amazed by the Clydesdale horses, and wasexcited to see all the roosters, calves, peacocks, turkeys, and the cowboys. All of the staff was kind, helpful, accommodatingand seem to enjoy working there. Ultimately, I do recommend the activities ... but only if you have an RV or stay and eat offsite. Read more
This is hard to rate and they clearly were having staffing issues. The ranch experience in and of itself was good. Our... grandson did the pony ride, but was disappointed a bit because he has done trail rides elsewhere. But not old enough here. Thestaffing issue was a big point of issue as they were announcing over the radios an employee was sick and needed to be tested.Running my own business, I get it?s a struggle, but you can?t let the guests know. If we didn?t have our grandson with us, weprobably would have left. The train ride was good and the kids loved it. Feeding the bison was a treat and seeing the babiesup-close was really neat. Lots of really interesting history by the conductor which was great for the adults. Thesteakhouse/saloon was terrible. The food was awful. $39.99 per adult for a subpar buffets and $19.99 for kids. There was noevidence of even trying to serve decent food. That was a real disappointment. Read more
We camped here for 2 nights. It has really good things about it and really bad. We did have a good time there due to Chris our... conductor on the train tour of the Buffalo. He was great, we really enjoyed him, the history and of course the Buffalo. Thestore, and the laundry facility are great also. The downside is the Senator's Steakhouse. Don't get me wrong it looks great, has great atmosphere. We went expecting to get a nice steak dinner after a long day of driving. Nope, didn't happen. We weretold they had trouble with staffing, that's understandable being the times. We were told they had a buffet of burgers and tacosfor $25.99. That it was great,, so ok that's what we eat. It was the sorriest excuse of a buffet we have ever had. They did havea good salad bar for $10.99. The main buffet consisted of a beef or Buffalo burger(not warm). Greasy chips, taco meat sometoppings. No taco sauce. That's it....no veggies or fries nothing. Pretty steep for $25.99. As far as the campsites, they r verytight. Our awning almost touched our neighbors Trailer. It was clean. Read more
Excellent, It truly deserves more stars. My husband and I stayed in one of the cabins (#10) with probably the best view of the... entire ranch. We could see the Bison right from all our windows and the beautiful porch. We have stayed in 5 star hotels beforeand we were very impressed with the Cabin. It was super clean, fully equipped and the decor was perfect. The service was greatand the food at the restaurant was fantastic. I highly recommend to stay there or at least stop for a meal and the Biso traintour. Feeding the Bison was a one in a lifetime experience. I can?t not wait to got back. Read more
Thank you to all at the ranch for making our visit so memorable. Our guide was fabulous. We were not aware of how vast the ranch... is - going into Colorado and all. Meeting Gene the Bison with a 15" tongue was outstanding! The rest of the herd was equallyawesome. Getting to feed Bison and get up close and personal was such a thrill on our fun meter. We are so proud of this Ranchfor purifying the blood lines, maintaining and increasing the numbers of this species. The American Bison is a wonder and theyare even cute in their own special way. We hope to return for a trail ride. Love from Coloradans. Read more
