Great atmosphere and large variety of food selections. Great for dinner or have a drink and appetizers.
Service was exceptional. Food was average. One dish, coconut shrimp, was horrible. They refused to make a few shrimp to... compensate and didn't offer to discount the dish. Also ordered a pizza to go. Asked for it to be well done. It was burnt notwell done. This will be the last time this family of 11 visits this establishment. Read more
I love this place. Every time I visit Chetek, I have to stop here at least once. They have great cocktails and a fun atmosphere.... The bartenders are always so nice and super chill. There is a nice outdoor area that is right on the lake. New owners recently.The cocktails are still amazing. The food is ok. Read more
This evening we had dinner with our family. The food was good and waitress was so kind and prompt. When checking out, my parents... (who are retired and were excited to pay for their kid?s dinner) tried to use a $100 gift card given to them as a gift forChristmas in 2021 and their debit card for the remainder of the balance. The waitress returned and informed my parents theycould not honor the $100 gift card, as it was issued under the previous owners. She was very apologetic which was appreciated.We asked to talk to the manager just to see if there was anything he/she could do for my parents. Sadly, discussing thesituation with the manager was extremely disappointing and disheartening. A few of us in our family have been in the serviceindustry for years and would never dream of what the manager did? She said she couldn?t do anything for us and nor would the newowners. She also laughed when we said we would leave a review. I feel saddened for the new ownership, that they have manager(s)that A. Do not believe in their ownership B. do not have a manager with creative problem solving skills C. Doesn?t give genuineapologies D. Have many day to day obstacles to deal with but have to put out fires due to a manager(s). I left a 1 star as youcannot leave a zero. The new ownership is more than welcome to connect with me as I would be happy to talk about how theirmanager belittled him/her. $100 now is thousands later with local loyal customers. I would hate to see that money lost for thenew owners due to one manager but we will not be supporting Gillian?s if this is not remedied. Read more
Went there for lunch the other day. Literally the only customers there at the time and we stood there waiting to be seated, or... even acknowledged for several minutes. Food took almost 1 hour! I can't imagine how long it takes when they have more than 1-3tables ordering food. Food was cold. Taste was awful. They have tried too hard to be creative with their menu and makeeverything with tropical themes and flavors and it doesn't work. The chicken sandwich had coleslaw and tartar sauce on it...Why..? Our cheese curds and fries were pale and undercooked. We were done eating and sat there waiting on a bill again for along time. So I stood at the register waiting for staff to see me for another several minutes. I'm not sure where the staff iswhile they have customers but this is unacceptable. Poor service. Ridiculously expensive beverage. $13 for a burger with no sides, no bun. And I had to pay an extra $1.50 for... lettuce, tomato and onion. Mind you, my burger came out with ONLY lettuce, tomato and onion when it was supposed to be aspecialty burger with bacon, cheese and other toppings. I obviously had to send it back. My darling had the "special". Ibelieve it was ribs and a side. We were absolutely, ridiculously disgusted with Gilligan's. Our bill was almost $70, forabsolute trash. Had it been a decent experience with great food and beverage, I probably would not have minded as much. Thiswas a Sunday afternoon/early evening. If this is the service and quality they put out then, I would CRINGE to be there in abusy Friday night. Read more
Surprised by how lovely of a place this was. Food was very average and slow. Drinks were reasonably priced. There is a touch... tunes outside on the patio and inside the bar. Plenty of seating on the patio as well as inside. There is a fair amount of tapbeer selection too. Read more
I used to love this place. I come here with my dog and eat outside together. Beautiful lake side lot with benches and tables. I... would order at the bar and bring the food out myself. Until recently I was turned down food service for whatever "new rule" because people dont clean up outside!?? Their own patio, 4pm, on a beautiful fall day, but no food. This is strange. Thisplace either needs better management, service or new owners who are willing to accommodate everyone who is not a sheep regular.Not happy, going to give my business to caddy shack who has excellent customer service, every time.
