Came here for a date night with my husband, and we were overjoyed! Started with the calamari which was super crunchy and tasty!... I had the lamb shank, which was one of the most delectable lamb shanks I've ever had. It was perfectly cooked, so tender, and Iloved the potatoes and rice it was on. It was in this amazing lemony sauce, and it was really perfect. My husband had the lambchop dinner, and they were perfectly cooked. They were also extremely tender, and just perfectly done. My husband is Greek, andloves lamb, and he couldn't decide which of the 2 dishes he enjoyed more! The service was amazing, and I really look forward tocoming here again in the future, especially to try the pizza as I LOVE Greek style pizza. Everything was so great. I have toedit my review - we have since come back 2 times, and have tried more menu, including the pizza. This is our new favorite nonpub restaraunt in chestermere. Get outta here! Soooo good! Wow wow wow. Seriously the BEST Greek we've ever had. Friendly service with a nice relaxed... atmosphere. Food is crazy awesome! I can't say enough good things. My steak was seasoned just right and was a great cut andcooked to perfection. I didn't even really need a knife cause it was so tender. Potatoes and veggies were also seasoned toperfection. I'm obsessed...might go to bed tonight dreaming of just the nicely flavored veggies! Husband's pizza was cookedawesome and let me say one more thing about portions..... These days we always seem to overpay for the amount of food we get butnot here. We were so happy with the size of our meals and will 10000% be back. Actually already planning a family dinner withthe inlaws here now . All in all great food and great experience. We've heard of ppl talking about this place and happy wefinally checked it out. Which brings me to marketing.....they need to get their name out there more. Even a sign out on the mainstreet or something or multiple streets so when you get hungry you see the sign and consider them as an option! The food and service was excellent, my only complaint is that only 2 staff wore their masks properly, the rest, including our... server, all wore them under their chins. I would feel a lot more comfortable dining at this restaurant if they followed thepublic safety protocols that have been put in place. Editing to say this improved quite a bit the next time I visited. Read more
We came on a Friday and I had the best ribs I have ever tasted. The meat fell right off the bones; it was so tender and juicy... that there was no need for the steak knife the meal came with. Absolutely delicious! We also had the Moussaka and I have toadmit it was even better than how my mom makes it - and she's Greek too! (Shhh! Don't tell her I said that!) Hostess/Server wasvery polite and friendly, and I loved the ambience/décor of the restaurant. Absolutely great food and service, will definitelybe back again. Read more
We went here on a Saturday night coz the city was way too busy and had no parking. We heard lots of good feedback , so why... not? Tables were comfy albeit well loved sofas. Spacing was good. We were able to choose where we sat. Menus were given andthere was a server right away. She mentioned drink specials which got me hooked! Drink was great! It's filled to the top,acceptable ice, sweetness and alcohol level. Try their Greek inspired cocktails! For starters we had their fried cheese! It is abit expensive but, it was delicious! It's a whole show where someone lights it on fire. The cheese was almost 3-4inches on eachside. Half an inch in thickness. Great crispness on the outside, gooey goodness on the inside. The freshly squeezed lemon was aperfect in accentuating the cheeseness of it and cutting off any greasy taste. 9/10 would buy again. For salad, we had theWatermelon, Feta , Almond with Balsamic Dressing. Ohmygosh, it was fresh and quite tasty. Watermelon chunks were just the rightsweetness, huge serving of feta cubes, almond crunch gave extra flavor and texture, the Balsamic was just the right amount oftartness. Perfect summer Salad. For mains, my friends had burger and steak sandwich which was gone right away! The burger asfar as I sensed was alright, a bit dry on the outside and smaller compared to usual pub burgers, pricepoint wise. The steaksandwich looked really good, my friend enjoyed it. Mine was Athenian Chicken on rice, potatoes and veggies. Veggies wereperfectly cooked, tender but still with a bite! Flavorful rice and the chicken was perfectly grilled. Loved it! Ask your serverfor the dessert because they don't have a menu yet. We got the tiramisu which was so fluffy and soft with a mild coffeetaste. Overall, the atmosphere and service were great. I had the Alexander sword chicken souvlaki and it was great! I have celiac disease (gluten allergy) and the waitress Nevada was... very knowledgeable about the menu and knew the dish was 100% gluten free, even the rice!. It was delicious and a huge portion!Everything was awesome and I will be back! So nice to have something this great local! My husband had the moussaka and alsoloved his dish! Read more
After eating here(in and take out) a few times, thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. Locals, by now, know we have a hidden gem here.... Great food, so far, and always friendly service. Now, onto the star of Plaka. I have travelled the world over many decades, hadpizza in Europe, Asia, heck, near everywhere but Antarctica and I don't say this lightly....IMO, the pizza here is on the top 3of my list. Even my wife, who can live without it, loves it. Chain joints have nothing on Plaka. Saying this, all comes down topreference. Even if pizza is not your thing, worth a try. You won't be disappointed.
