I have eaten and enjoyed brocks for years. However I've traveled twice from north of river (varina) to dine at brocks Once two... weeks ago And again today Nov 5th 2022. The website and phone message states open on Tues-sat until 8pm. On both occasions wearrived at 5pm only to see sign on door closed at 5pm I tried earlier in week on Thurs of this week and was closed So what isgoing on. You either post correct opening and closing times both on your phone message and internet or start to loose customers.Mr Brock would be disappointed to know his long established restaurant is being mis managed like this Last time the buffet wascold and we had to ask for hot food I do not plan to ever make another trip to your restaurant not knowing what time you chooseto open or not open. You all need to get your act together or just close. Restaurants have set hours that their customersdepend on. Obviously you all have forgotten this or just don't care. It's a shame as your food is good but your lack ofconsistent hours has ruined your reputation Read more

Excellent fried chicken! A good selection of very tasty side dishes on the buffet which is what I had. Attentive waitstaff,... since it was a treat, I hope my family left a very good tip. Read more

Stopped for lunch. We both had the shredded pork barbeque sandwich. I had fries with the sandwich, and my husband had onion... rings, also as a plus, we were asked if we wanted slaw on top of our sandwiches. Yes! We enjoyed our meal, as the food was verygood. Service was good, the atmosphere was friendly. Glad we stopped by. Read more

This is probably the worst restaurant in chesterfield/chester. My wife and I took her parents there and the service was terrible... and not like they are understaffed (which we get) but terrible as in waitress walked up "what do you want" not a hi not a helloand the service continued like that we had to ask two other waiters for water after waiting about 25 30ish mins. Then we askedfor more ketchup we waited 10mins ok thats not much of a problem. But then the waitress brought back the same ketchup bottlewith the same amount it in. Little bit later my father in law asked for cocktail sauce and the waitress brought him out frozensolid cocktail sauce. We love to support mom and pop places but the mix of service and the BBQ being ok at best. We will notrecommend this place or go back. Read more

Personally I am a little biased because I am not huge on BBQ (or I am really picky), but it wasn't bad. We tried the Jalapeno... Corn Poppers as an app. They are sort of like mini corn breads with pieces of corn, cream cheese, jalapenos, and bacon inside. They were not spicy, which I was hoping they would be. My GMA liked them and she's really picky. I shared the Create Your OwnBBQ Combo with St. Louis-Style Wet Ribs, Fried Shrimp, Curley Fries, and Collard Greens (and still had a lot to take home). Mymom and GMA got the Smoked Beef Brisket Sandwhich. The fries I liked the best out of all the food, but again, I am reallypicky. My mom and GMA liked their sandwhiches. The service was great! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Horrible. Please read all reviews and check your order before leaving. Ordered take out and the food was... disgusting. ?Baked? chicken looked like it was boiled and slathered in watered down barbecue sauce. Brisket was extremely dry.Barbecues sauce was watered down. The full rack of ribs tasted like they had been sitting out. You have to tell them do not putsauce on the ribs even if you order the dry rub. The roll was hard and old. The only decent thing was the corn fritters. Icalled to request a partial refund and was told I needed to bring the food back. If I lived closer I would take it right away. Read more

First, I would like to say that generally I?m a fan of Brock?s BBQ. However, my most recent visit was quite disappointing. I... understand that we are currently in the midst of a global pandemic, but there is only so much you can blame on the pandemic.Businesses have been allowed to blame lack of services or lack of staffing and inflate prices due to difficulties of being ableto receive product. However, as a consumer we expected to be forgiven as we watch our bill goes up and our services diminish. Ifwe are expected to pay higher prices for our food, businesses should be expected to balance out their service to an acceptablelevel. This is not what I got today when my wife and I went to Brock?s BBQ. Today, my wife and I ordered our food and it wasdelivered in a prompt manner, but that was not the problem. My wife?s platter arrived on an already chipped plate that the foodcovered the chip in the plate. While trying to bring this to our servers attention, she would not slow down enough to bring itto her attention. When you order food you expect the server or someone to come over and ask how your meal is or if you need arefill, but this did not happen once. When our server finally decided to slow down enough to ask my ask if she needed a box, mywife informed her of the chipped plate. The server gave us a very insincere apology and placed the check on the table. When Igave my check to the young lady I informed her of my displeasure. She was more responsive to my complaint than the server was.She once again blamed the pandemic for most of concerns. Once again I agree that the pandemic has caused issues in food service, but they need to come to some kind of compromise to make patrons feel like they are paying higher prices and getting theattention they feel they are paying more of their money for. In my never-ending Tuesday quest to find the best buffet... we find this spot. Brock?s BBQ took us 30 minutes to reach from the... Airport. The food was good. Fresh but very slow coming out. The beans tasted unseasoned and straight out of a can. The greensvery good. The corn was ok. The mash potatoes were average. The salad bar was very simple. The meat ???? we?ll let me tellyou. The chicken was to die for. I try to stay away from fried foods but the seasoning on the chicken and fried livers keptpulling me back in. I LOVED it!!! The BBQ ???? was pretty smoky and tasty. The pulled pork was more of a shredded pork and wasvery good because it wasn?t stringy. Almost like chopped BBQ. Either way those where my favorite dishes. The reason thislocation lost their stars. My server was very nice and friendly. So friendly that she hand picked my lemons and held them in thecup with her fingers on top of the lemons flesh so they do not fall. Gross!!! ????. Other than some basic health foodviolations. The place is worth a visit. Read more
