Stopped by yesterday for lunch. Everything was great, from the drinks to the appetizer to the meals. Our only real complaint is... the service was slowwww. There was a large party in the front room, so maybe that had something to do with it. Highly recommendthe watermelon margarita and the mussels, which might have been the best ever mussel broth I?ve ever had! Great cozy place witha great atmosphere! Read more
My wife and I were looking for a catering service for our wedding at Schooley's Mountain Lodge. We checked with different... vendors and although Redwoods Grill & Bar did come up a little higher than our budget, the price for the peace of mind is worthit. They handled setting up, the food, the bar, the service, and for the most part everything that wasn't flowers or music. Theywere able to coordinate well with the venue we were staying at as well as with the band. They followed the schedule and providedgreat customer service. My main point of contact was Zoe Durst who was very patient and helpful with providing assistance duringthe stressful time of planning a wedding. She also recommended us a florist local in the area that was within our budget. I had my daughters bridal shower brunch there today and it was fabulous!! Micaela and Nick were amazing. They took care of ... everyone and made the shower a perfect day for all! Everyone loved the food and cake, beyond my expectations. Janet was such apleasure to work with booking this event! Redwoods has always been a reliably great meal. But for the first time, I did a private event there. Everything was done to my... specifications, and suggestions were made that made things even better. Very impressed with the whole operation. Amazing place to eat. The food and service is exquisite. The food is done to perfection and tastes delicious. The wood grilled... steak is unique and tasty. I once had a get together with distant relatives here and everyone loved it. We were served well andgot all the food we wanted. Overall this is a great restaurant. Read more
The restaurant was a golden find. After going to the farm for sunflowers and some peaches and apples, we found Redwoods. Carol... the waitress OUTSTANDING customer service. We need 1000 Carol's. She suggested the wood grilled shrimp and grit cake for ourstarter....oh my goodness to the gracious.... the shrimp great! the grit cake amazing creamy seasoned to perfection the cheesesauce made sweet music with our taste buds...it was Tuesday so we had the special...grilled glazed Salmon over rice and greenbeans again an excellent choice they give you an abundance of food the salmon cooked perfectly the green beans cooked perfectlythe rice cooked perfectly and the rum punch to go with our meal had a real punch. Absolutely great experience having dinner here. The staff was attentive and friendly and always made sure we had what we needed... and that our water glass was full! The cocktails were phenomenal (I tried a lavender gin cocktail, a vanilla rum cocktail and araspberry mint champagne mixer). For appetizer we started with the shrimp and cheesy grits cake which was simply one of the bestdishes I've had! The smoked flavor on the shrimp was unmatched! For entrees we had the peanut noodle Thai fusion dish with filetmignon and it really was comparable to delicious Thai dishes of the same caliber. We also had the seared scallops over creamylemon risotto and the cook on the scallops was perfect, as was the creaminess of the risotto! Great outdoor seating andambience. Definitely stop by! I am very new to the area, haven?t had the opportunity to dine in yet. My father has lived here for 50 years was dining here for... lunch today with a friend. I have been stuck at home isolating with the C word for several days, and since he lives close to mehe asked if I wanted him to bring me something back for lunch. Without even looking at the menu I asked for a hamburger andfries. Nothing special, figuring I can heat up the items separately and discard what gets soggy. Well this restaurant must haveset the bar for takeout during the pandemic. The fries were sent in a foil lined bag that somehow kept them hot without gettingsoggy. They thought to keep lettuce, tomato and pickle in a separate clamshell and the burger was in its own plastic (and Imight add reusable!) container. It?s was all absolutely delicious and packed with care which is worth its weight in gold in myopinion! I?m just really impressed by someplace I haven?t even had the opportunity to visit in person yet. I now understand whymy dad and his friend have had this place on their weekly rotation for years now.
