This was my first visit. My sister's and I got together and went. It was a great time!! Food was super! The fried shrimp was... battered, lightly, just the way our Dad use to fix them. We're regular customers and have noticed the gradually shrinking hush puppies over the years. But, today they hit an all time... low.... as you can see in this picture of just pieces and scraps of hush puppie batter they sold to me. Pretty bad decline fromwhen they first opened on Cedar Rd. I've eaten here a few times before and enjoyed the food but today was kind of a let down. I ordered a shrimp basket and a fried... haddock basket. The haddock had a very strong fishy taste and smell. To the point I couldn't even come close to finishing mymeal. The shrimp were OK and the fries were good. Just disappointed for the amount I spent and wishing I would have had aMcDonalds fish sandwich instead. Oh well. Live and learn Read more
Unbelievable fried oysters. I rarely believe people when they say, ?the best I?ve ever had,? but this is for real, the BEST... OYSTERS I?VE EVER HAD. Polite people, expedient service, and delicious. Glad I didn?t find this place sooner or I would alreadybe fat and broke?but very happy. UPDATE: Went back for some more of the oysters and was sadly disappointed: not the same atall. The batter was heavy and too salty, it was almost more batter than oyster. The batch I first reviewed had a light, delicatebatter. The only observable variable was a different crew in the kitchen (I realize there may be more to it, just trying to givesome info because otherwise, its a gamble as to which oysters you get) ?the all Black lunch crew crushed it. Staff very friendly and efficient. I think the fish isn't cooked until ordered. The haddock and catfish were terrific. We had... a Samsung and a basket. Way way too much bread on the sandwich. Just go with the basket. Potato salad and fries were verygood. Little pricey but isn't everything now? Read more

I've been doing to try this place and I'm so GLAD I did!! Had the shrimp basket with side of 4 oysters. Basket comes with 12... large lightly batter fried shrimp. Oysters have a bit thicker breading, both delicious. Cole slaw is creamy with a nice tangytwist. Packets of tartar and cocktail sauce are the side of salad dressing packets- plenty. Service was fast and staff are veryhelpful and nice. Very impressed and will definitely be back. Maybe pricey but worth every penny. Read more
Absolutely excellent. I couldn't eat all the fries. I had the big fish basket.
