O.M.G. this place was AMAZING!!!! We saw this cute little restaurant on our drive to a different place and decided to stop here... instead and I'm so glad we did! I got the Grinder Meal Deal and my boyfriend ordered the Chicken Salad Croissant (he's a meateater and said it tasted just like chicken!) I can't wait for our next trip here! Let me just start off by saying as a Native Philadelphian who has enjoyed many vegan cheesesteaks in my life, this was one of... the best. Most certainly the best vegan cheesesteak I?ve ever had outside of Philly, and it gives the ones in philly a run fortheir money. I was so impressed with it. Textually perfect, seasoning and ingredients on point. To top it off, they say hoagieroll on their menu! That?s bonus points in my book. Now for the rest of the food?. Also delicious! The bacon chicken ranchsandwich was excellent. Crispy, crunchy goodness on a bun. The Cuban and the chicken buf. We?re also really good. The friedpickles were outstanding. The vegan ranch was some of the best vegan ranch I?ve had. The desert selection was solid as well.Some of it was a little on the sweeter side for my tastes, but still good. I usually don?t like fries that are not super crispy,but even the fries hit the spot. The staff was awesome. Reminded me of some of my best friends from back home. Got to chat itup about the local music scene and was made to feel welcomed. I?d honestly go back just for the people. Ordered two of the 'sauced tender plates'. Total came out to 30 dollars. Prices here have jumped recently-- you would think the... food quality would have as well. Description for my order said '3-4 tenders, slaw, tots, and dipping sauce'. I received 2.5tenders, all of which were drenched in hot sauce that was inedibly salty, not crispy at all-- I would describe it as slimy. Notots, but had some store bought waffle fries. Dipping sauces included some mayonnaise concoction and ketchup. No slaw wasincluded. I picked up my order from the store, drove home and went to eat it. Unfortunately I realized soon that it wasn'tanything like what was listed vaguely on the site. I called the store to request a refund, and was told to go through Instagramto get my refund. I messaged the page and was told that I could only receive a partial refund since my food wasn't returned tothe store within the hour of picking it up... I wasn't about to drive 30 minutes back to the place to get a refund. I expressedthis, but was not granted a full refund. The entire conversation via instagram (strange method of disputing orders?) seemed veryunhelpful, the user seemed annoyed that I was claiming that the order was inadequate. They have now changed the orderdescription on their site to not include tots or slaw, wonder why that is lol. Won't be returning. Customer service was great! Restaurant was dingy and lacked ambiance. It smelled like old grease. Which explains why the fries... were soggy and greasy. I was excited to try the Cuban sandwich. The sandwich reminded me of a dry bologna sandwich. I alsoordered the honey bbq wings. The sauce is amazing the seitan has a funny taste to it. That isn?t so pleasant. The food is subparat best. Edit: they fixed a lot ab the online presence and hours, gonna give them another chance. Second time trying to eat here,... "trying" because odd hours, no menu or # on google, their website's menu is full of dead links. I get to the door and the wonkyQR on the door doesn't read on my phone. It says it's closed on uber but I'm literally there now. Is this a money launderingfront? Read more
Response to owner: this was in September. There was no dine in option that day. I?ll happily come back and give it another try.... Full support for plant base foods ?? I really appreciate what this eatery is trying to do. Their general aesthetic is playfuland appealing. Their plant based goal is admirable but just kinda misses the mark. My sister and I each got a differentsandwich. Hers was very bland and mine was so over seasoned it was barely edible. We tried to combine elements of our sandwichto make one that was more palatable but it was a lost cause. We ended up eating at home after. There seems to be a lack ofbalance in the flavors. Plant base food is and can be amazing, but something needs to be tweaked here. Read more
