Kyle Ford was an incredible waiter! We had a party of 8 adults and 7 children from 1-14. Somehow we failed to communicate to... the restaurant or waiter that we had a deadline to leave. We ordered cocktails, appetizers and main courses and ran out of time.So we told our waiter, just have the kitchen make our food to go. The food came out plated, and Kyle was a master at getting usto go containers, getting checks ready for 5 different parties, getting bread to hungry babies and remaining calm and cheerful.???? We love this place. I say we because everyone I've ever gone there with has felt the same way. The service is always great, as... is the food, and the cocktails. The darker, candlelit ambience, the lack of noisiness often found in other restaurants, isgratefully missing. Just the right amount of food, nicely presented, each time. The servers aren't pretentious, butprofessional. The bar upstairs, especially on a weeknight when it is generally a little slower, is mellow and quiet, and perfectfor conversation. The combination of seating types is also nice- cozy up to your s.o., sit at the bar, gather round with friendson comfortable seating, or at a table. Happy hour is great, and the location in relation to the Tivoli, or other nighttimeoutings, is just perfect. I hope they never change this place, and keep it just as it is. We heart SJMP! Read more
My cheeseburger was so salty I couldn't eat it. Everything else was amazing. All the other food was great. Mistakes happen. We... hadn't been there in forever but it was reasonably priced and the atmosphere is great. Read more
We had to wait for a new table even though someone else in the group had already made reservations, our table was given away.... The server was nice but he came back to the table every 35-45 minutes. It took over an hour to get my cocktail. I orderedanother and it never came, but was still charged for it. When I told the server, it took another 20 minutes for that to getchanged. The food was beyond bland on top of the service. The vegetables in my spaghetti primavera were huge chunks andundercooked. Our server forgot to give another person in our group her boxed up leftovers, but it took him easily 25 minutes torealize it. This was my first time here and I doubt I?ll be back. Read more

St.Johns meeting place is what I recommend for date night. It's ajoined to St.Johns, just not as formal feeling but the food is... just as good. Meeting place has an intimate vibe, dimly lit, with a cute little nook upstairs. You can't go wrong withanything you choose. My 2 favs are the duck confit and carrot cake souffle. It was a typical night for our family. There were toddling babies making a break for the stairs. 8 year old girls dancing.... Someone might've figured out cold fusion, but if they did the secret is lost forever because the chaos was real. Our waiter Kylehandled the insanity with a great calm. He got us or food, even tho the planner of the dinner neglected to mention we were on atime crunch. Anyways the cocktails were yummy, the bread was great and the food was mana.
