I've come to learn that if you want to know the true character of an establishment, visit them during their least popular... hours. I know that 2 am may not be the least popular hour here, but I definitely discovered the character of the staff memberworking behind the counter that night. I had come in to grab a cup of coffee and some Little Debbies Donut Sticks (go ahead andjudge me). I was coming home from work and had my backpack on. Just a little backstory. I have been a Mapco Rewards customersince they launched the program back in 2012 and have been a fan of the majority of their locations since that time. Anyway, Imade my coffee and stood behind one person that was cashing out. When it was my turn to pay, I let the cashier know I was arewards member and wanted to enter my phone number. After I entered it, I noticed the cashier blatantly staring at me. Iwaited for him to finish cashing me out, but he kept staring at me. Before I could ask him why he was so enamored with me, heasked me if I had been banned from the store. This was definitely not what I thought was the problem. I responded with "whatdid you say". He repeated the question. After processing his question, I said no, why would you ask me that. He replied with "Well I was told that a black guy ( I'm black by the way) with a backpack was banned from the store. I just looked at him likehe was the idiot that I thought he was. I then told him that no I had never been banned but since all black guys look the same,I understood the mistake. I would go on in detail about what played out, but this is a review and not an opinion column. Bottom line is, this person was out of line for the comment. NOTE TO MAPCO: If you're banning someone from your store, makesure you have an accurate description of the person being banned. Maybe a picture or at the very least, a name. My fiancé was going to get me and our baby a drink and the late night worker slammed the sliding door in his and a few other... customers faces and told them they had to stand outside (while it was cold) till he got done doing what he needed to do!Meanwhile there was 3/4 customers in the store getting mad wanting out and the worker told them they had to wait to be let out.. that is awful being treated that way I use to work at a mapco and we never did that !!! Very friendly courteous staff. Clean and well stocked convenience store and gas station. Bathrooms were clean. Parking lot n... gas pumps free of debris n trash. Most everyone had mask on Read more
Stopped here passing through after a pit stop to sleep. I don't normally remember convenient stores, but I remembered this one... and wanted to leave a review. Uncommon hospitality for a convenient store. Saw my wife and I with all our kids. Willing to helpfill their waters for free and went to pay for my coffees and snack bars and pretty much gave them to me. Charged me for likeone coffee. Nice deal! Read more
