We came here because we were staying across the street at the Read Hotel. The meal overall was good, but in my opinion I believe... the only negative thing about the place is dinner is a bit pricy for what you get. I think they use the theme of the place as away to get you in the door and jack up price on certain items. Breakfast items are priced good though, I probably should havestuck to breakfast. The food overall was great, the steak I got was cooked perfect which I wasn?t expecting that and had lowexpectations for a diner. My only complaint was they put way to many mushrooms on top of the steak you could barely even see it.Probably used $8 in mushrooms alone????. The waiters were super friendly and really nice. And we ordered dessert, which is hugepieces of different types of cake for $8-$12 a slice. The dessert was awesome but I think the price should be less. I wouldcome back but probably only for breakfast. Overall two adult meals and a kids meal and a soft drink ended up being $105 whenyou add tip. Read more
Now understand with places like this people typically go for the convenience not so much the food. It is a great thing to have a... 24hr restaurant especially when you are out late with friends or your significant other. The food was not the best and the menuis huge which is typically something to be cautious of at any restaurant. People were sending food back to the kitchen left andright. My waitress was amazing, I mean she was the sweetest person which made up for everything else. It is pretty small so bemindful but it definitely has that classic diner vibe and good music. Even though they were extremely busy, we got seated right away. Our waitress was so friendly and very attentive. The food was... absolutely delicious! You get huge portions at a very reasonable price. Love the music selection they were playing. Veryupbeat. We're definitely coming back soon! Read more
This was my first time going to the City Cafe Diner, and it was amazing! The blueberry pancakes were so delicious!! The pancakes... were cooked perfectly with fresh blueberries inside of them. My wife had a patty melt with home-made fries. I can't wait to goback and try lunch and dinner menu items. Read more

I was a on a family vacation this weekend and I must say that I?ve had the time of my life here in Chattanooga, Tennessee! There... were so many eateries to choose from and we ended up here since we were hungry after we just made it into town! Wow, absolutelyloved the ambiance of the restaurant. From the people to the vintage design, I loved it. As soon as we walked in, the smell ofthe cooking just hits you! Once we got seated, we couldn?t wait to dig in! Once we started looking over the menu, we realizedthat it was indeed an old fashioned styled diner as the menu had several pages full of an assortment of breakfast, lunches, anddinners. You could literally get anything here! Our waitress was absolutely amazing and Happy Birthday to her! I ordered thepatty melt on rye bread with fries and this was the best patty melt I?ve ever had! The flavoring was so simple, yet eloquent. Iloved the home style sandwich taste. On another note, this business handles high volumes of people very well. The vibe and energy here will make you smile. The service was great, the staff work together very well. The food......excellent.... The Eggs Benedict are really good. Stopped here after looking for a place to get food late at night. They are open 24/7, so this was the perfect choice. The... menu is huge (think Cheesecake Factory huge)! I had the chicken parmesan sandwich. My husband had a grilled ham and cheese. Weordered a slice of Heath Cake and a slice of Million Dollar Cake for dessert. We definitely could have split one.
