Had the best time dancing here. The drinks were great. The dance floor was full but fun.
Some friends and I went on a Saturday night to celebrate a bachelorette. The majority of the men there were straight and clearly... on the prowl to find any female on site. From afar I even saw one guy lift a random women?s shirt up and exposing her bra foreveryone to see. I was approached multiple times and dealt with some inebriated men that felt the need to put their handsanywhere they please. I almost started a fight with one of them until they finally walked away. We weren?t even on the sardinepacked dance floor, we were upstairs majority of the time to avoid the chaos but even that didn?t stop men from pursuing. Themajority of our group are in committed relationships and we were just looking to have a fun time with our friends but felt as ifwe needed to be constantly cautious of our surroundings the entire time there. So just be cautious of that for anyone that makesplans to visit. It?s a shame our experience was the way it was because I have heard great things about this place and the DJwas awesome, but again I feel like it does need to be addressed for any future goers. Great place to dance and good music. Dance floor is very small so I only wish they?d move the folks not dancing off the floor. ... Lots of people try to walk thru instead of going around the bar. Very diverse for an alternative club. Can?t really tell who?slooking for what. Overall good place though. Read more
I have loved this place since I moved here but after coming tonight I will not be back. First off I was told my vape smelled... like weed even though it is legal delta 8 so we had to put it in a lockbox with security. The bar staff and drinks are awesomelet me say that. No drag show on a Friday night we waited til after 1230 and nothing. Kid's all over the place were hittingtheir vapes which made us feel discriminatetd against.. also they had a cop in the bar watching everyone. Painfully straight. Calling this a gay bar is definitely a reach. There are gay flags and drag shows. However 80% of the people... are straight girls having a girls night and 15% are straight men there to hit on the girls. About 5-10% were gay people. I feltout of place as a cis, white, gay man. So i can't imagine people of color and trans individuals feel very comfortable here. Veryhetero environment and very disappointed. I would love to see some initiatives to make it more gay and less straight. Read more
I've always liked Alan's. The music is phenomenal and the drinks are good. It is a small venue and attracts a ton of people so... it gets claustrophobic as the night goes on. The crowd is diverse and energetic. The Drag shows are O.K. It's not that theperformers aren't good. They just don't have the room or staging to really perform to their potential. My only real complaint isthat it hasn't changed in decades and it's been about that long since it's been cleaned. The sound is great but other than it'supdates and an attempt to enclose a patio I can't see that there has been anything else done. Of course I have only been goingthere for 18 years. Read more
Spent my Saturday night here for my 21st birthday with my friends, and it was the best first bar experience!!! Bartenders were... fast and polite, security was on their game and so nice to us, and the lady upstairs cooking was really cool (made some awesomefries too). The music they played was great. The drag show was soooo much fun to watch. We definitely will be back for our nextnight out! Read more
