I really like how big the restaurant is as well as the decor. Very unique. Our server was attentive and kind, and the food came... quickly. It so felt like home-cooking, which I love. I?ll start off by saying the waitress was an absolute sweet heart, but onto the food. I ordered the chicken fried steak and... brisket meal.I replaced the potato?s with fries and wish I hadn?t, they were a soggy under cooked greasy mess. The brisket isdefinitely not smoked it tasted like it was cooked in a crock pot then reheated in the microwave. The chicken fried steak was soover cooked it was like chewing on a shoe, I took one bite and was unable to swollen it and the gravy tasted like flour andthat?s it. We made our first visit to Comfort and Soul last Friday November 27, 2020 for dinner and we will definitely be making this a... regular visit. Our table ordered a bacon, cheeseburger with fries as well as a pulled pork meal in BBQ Soul sauce that came withfries and baked beans. The fresh hand cut thin fries are fantastic and we were certainly impressed with the portions. We areleft wanting to try several other menu items that also looked amazing, so we are now hooked and will be coming back to try them.By the way I am still laughing that I had the Slap your mama Chocolate cake and wow it was rich, moist and delicious. Also haveto say how impressed I was that I was brought liquid honey for my green tea when I ordered. Such an impressive touch!! Finallywe want to make mention of the fast friendly service that we had, as our waitress took great pride in explaining the menu itemsand choices when we told her it was our first visit.
