My first time here. Lunch. I ordered the Soul Platter with fried chicken, coleslaw, corn bread and deviled eggs. Talk about... home cooking! Every single item is delicious -- the chicken is cooked perfectly, the cornbread has a sweetness with (dare Isay) a drop of vanilla! What a treat. The deviled eggs are a tasty mayonnaise/mustard with light herbs. I will be back again, and again! There is a family dinner for four on the menu. The proprietor, Shaun, was professional, friendly, and brought my foodquickly. The restaurant is spotlessly clean. Cool reggae music playing. I recommend it! Come eat at this place! Read more

The macaroni and cheese was cold. My moms pulled chicken was ice cold. The fish was dry and bland & Fried entirely too hard. the... corn had cinnamon or brown sugar or something very disgusting in it. The corn bread was dry and small as a post it sticker. Thegreens were okay.. tasted like they were canned rather than fresh. For $75 I could?ve done ALOT BETTER. waste of money. Iwouldn?t waste my time going here. The only thing that was pretty decent was the fried chicken. Music outside was entirely tooloud? it?s a NO FOR ME. Read more

Absolutely wonderful food. Soul food cooked using traditional Alabama recipes. I'm from the UK and travelled all over the States... but I can assure you I've never tasted this type of food so good before! Keep up the good work guys! ???? Read more

First things first: this place is fabulous. We are from Texas and were missing the comfort foods, so we stopped by to try it... out. The food here tastes like home and we can't wait to come back again. The staff is wonderful and we had a great experience. They have something really special here. Things to know: The fish and chicken are fried skin-on, so if that's not your thing, plan accordingly. Outdoor seating is available, which may be a good option if you arrive later in the day. The indoor space canbe pretty warm if you don't sit by the window, and there is not a lot of indoor seating for larger parties. Read more

The food was good, yet the flavor wasnt available to present itself. The chicken and collards were cold. And the cornbread was... the size of a post it note, lacking both height and width. The dining area is small, but not an issue. Its the small tables thatare made for lamp holding, and hard chairs that have all my back muscles on fire. Granted Im and 6'6, but sheesh. And theventilation, they need windows or a better exhaust; we left smelling like fish and burnt cooking oil. Side note; the cleanestpart of the restroom was the commode. Read more

Down to earth, real food. Loved the red cabbage. I got the pork, and Kim got the ????. I think I made the better choice but both... were good. The cornbread seems to have cinnamon, which I found interesting, bit might put some folks off. The greens were realtasty, bit I could have got some more fatback in it. Surely the most interesting part was the deep fat fried deviledeggs. Totally unique. Let me know if you even ever heard of it! The boiled eggs were dipped in some batter, fried thenfilled. Totally worth going there if you get nothing else. Plus the folks are super ???? Read more

Fried chicken made to order so took about 15 minutes. So worth it. Family style business. Kids and stuff running around, fun and... friendly vibe. Soul music playing. Indoor and outdoor seating. Chicken was meaty, so juicy and flavoursome. Love the deliciousdeviled eggs which I think had some kind of pickles in them. Even the green beans were delicious. Bonus slice of cinnamon cake(?) thing. $16+ tax + tip for a meal so not the cheapest you can find but definitely one of the best. Read more
