Reviews for Ralph Sampson's American Taproom in Charlottesville, VA
We were seated quickly. Pretty sure waitress was new, seemed nervous, forgot to place order for some items. Table wasn\'t wiped... from last customers.\nFood was good, though a few items tasted as if they were not made onsite (beef gravy, cheese sauce). Goodportion size. Price was reasonable. This was my third time at this location and each time food and service experience has beenthe same. Read more
Very clean and well decorated. Waitress was very polite and good at her job. Music was a tad loud but not blasting. The food... arrived in app 15 minutes at most and everything was correct and hot. The grilled chicken sandwich was ok but not what I wasexpecting. The regular fries are better than the truffle fries in my opinion. All American burger was great. The sweet tea isvery good. Deviled eggs could use a little salt but were very good otherwise. Overall it\'s a good place and we look forward toour next visit. Read more

We had a delightful experience today with our excellent server and outstanding food choices. Our choices were varied from the... menu and all were delicious. Those items tried were the corn bread, deviled eggs, watermelon and tomato salad, grilled salmon, burger, sorbet, cheese cake, and brownie sundae with coffee and water for beverages. Jacob seated us when we arrived with hiswinning smile and pleasant personality. Our server with a pleasant personality was also named Jacob who was outstanding in hiseye to detail and helpfulness throughout the three courses of the meal. We again highly recommend and will return. Jeanne andPhil Chase, Julie Fudala Read more
Tried out Ralph Sampson\'s American Taproom since its been about a month or two since opening. I had the Sampson\'s All-American... Burger with not one but two Blackberry & Sage Mule. Everything came out to about 40 bucks. The bartender did amazing work on thethe mule which made me order two. The burger was pretty good. The egg was nice and runny and everything tasted well together. Myonly issue was the \"slab bacon\", i wished it was thin so i can have even bites. There were issues where I had to bite reallydown to make sure I didn\'t pull the bacon out from the burger. Can\'t have a baconless burger! I came here during night time onFriday, and they had a live DJ playing some amazing 90\'s -2000 r&b. Definitely was a vibe. I will definitely be coming backhere if I have late night muchies. They close @11. Read more
Admittedly I came in with low expectations. I had looked at the menu and thought for the type of food the prices were high. I... got the lobster Mac and cheese and my husband got the chicken and waffles. Both were outstanding and well worth the price. Welived in Boston previously and this is the most lobster I have ever gotten in a lobster Mac dish for a lower price too. Myhusband tried the house beer and he (as a big IPA fan) loved it. The servers were just lovely everyone there is so friendly andquick to help. We will definitely be back! Read more
Was okay. Waiter was good. We were seated between a couple and two ladies that had just finished eating, pretty tight space near... the bar. Food was good just expensive. Check the menu online before you go. Will go again. Read more
The signature burger tastes really great! I\'d order it again. The menu is limited. The French fries were basic fries. The... atmosphere was amazing. The service was awesome. Read more
