This restaurant is exceptional, truly. I do not eat out often at all, especially at a fast food restaurant. First time visiting the Charlottesville Qdoba location. I tried the new Surf and Turf bowl. It was very tasty, but unfortunately... the portion was quite small - about half the size of my wife?s build-your-own bowl, but a couple bucks more expensive. Nice,spacious atmosphere in the restaurant, and the employees behind the counter were very friendly and helpful. I was there laterin the evening, and an employee had begun to mop the floors, but had neglected to put out a wet floor sign. A few minutes beforewe left, somebody (unclear if an employee of customer) slipped and fell, and appeared to have hurt their arm. This seemed tooccur within plain sight of the employee who was mopping. After the person who fell left, that employee still did not put outthe wet floor sign. It was a little disappointing to say the least. I would definitely return for the ambiance and the qualityof the food (but will be sure to build my own bowl next time to ensure an adequate portion). Oh my goodness. This is my go-to for quick, easy in and out ordering. I haven't been disappointed with their food or service!!
I've eaten at Qdoba only a handful of times (not this location specifically every time) and I really find their food bland. No... spice, no flavor, it didn't need to be throat burning spicy for me (I can't eat that anyway), but there was no savoriness to itat all. I couldn't taste any lime or cilantro in the rice, it just tasted "wet" (like it had been really overcooked and was justmushy). I had added pico de gallo and corn salsa and the fajita peppers and none of those ingredients had any flavor to them. Itwas a sad bowl of food. (I didn't eat at the restaurant, so I did finish the food since I had paid for it and had no desire tothrow it away. If I had been in person, I would have likely talked to your manager). Read more
The service and staff were great. Make no mistake: they are friendly, courteous, and quick! I truly appreciate those traits... knowing they do get busy. Portions are spot on and food is filling. I tend to like my food more flavorful and much spicier andfelt QDOBA isn't quite there. However, likely a great place to bring friends and family who tend to enjoy milder foods. Unfortunately my delivery order was made with black beans instead of pinto beans so I didn't get to enjoy the meal because I... cannot eat black beans without gagging. I did order a side of chips and queso that was very delicious! But the amount I paidafter delivery fee and tip to only be able to eat chips and queso is disappointing. I'm a big Mexican-food lover so I was superexcited to try Qdoba while in town but I won't be trying again. I think if it was a matter of being out of pinto beans I shouldhave been contacted so I believe this was just an error. Smelled great and the queso was really good though. Read more
