Reviews for MarieBette Café and Bakery in Charlottesville, VA
So good! All of the pastries were good. My favorite was the pretzel croissant. I would definitely eat here again!
Love all the pastry offering found around town. Pecan sticky buns to die for. But this was our first time visiting a MarieBette... location. The $11 Croque Madame was weak. Bummed about the location itself, but will continue to buy pastries around town. Read more
Pastries are really good. Outside seating is limited, so if you can, avoid busy hours or at least have another place in mind to... take your pastries. Coffee is okay for a bakery. Would happily go back Read more
Great bakery. Many unique and delicious breads. The sourdough has an image of a historical person, nice touch to celebrate... history. I would not recommend the tea, as it?s $3.25 for a large tea with only one bag of tea powder not actual tea leaves.Starbucks gives you actual tea leaves for delicious tea for $3. This is diluted tea flavored hot water, and one bag is notenough for the large tea to even remind you it?s supposed to be tea, haha on me! I threw it away. Spend your $ on juice ifyou?re not a coffee drinker. Read more
Really love MarieBette Cafe (both locations)! Everything I?ve had from there has been great - breakfast sandwiches, pastries,... and coffees/teas/hot chocolates. Finally getting around to reviewing them after ordering a cake a couple of weeks ago. It 100%met my wishes! I asked for the lemon cake with pink or white peonies and white lily of the valley flowers (to represent May),and I was amazed when I saw the cake! It was spot on for what I wanted in looks and taste! Read more
Wonderful local bakery with friendly employees and tasty treats. Each time we visit Charlottesville we get the pecan buns. We... also tried the apple pie this trip, so good! Read more
The 5 stars is for the pastries. The Pastries are delicious, the coffee is lackluster. There are 2 locations, and this is the... better one in my opinion. Definitely try their canalés, their palmiers, and their kouign amann if they have it. Their pastrieschange all the time so if you blink you might miss it. Their canalés are delicious. Crispy on the outside and fluffy andcreamy on the inside. I?ve never had one before but now I?m hooked and I can?t get enough. The Kouign amann tastes similar to anapple turnover, but it?s much richer, crispier, and has a crunchy buttery crust. I got a mocha latte ($4.50) and it didn?timpress me, so I wouldn?t go back for that, but the pastries are good and worth stopping by for. It?s a pretty popular place butthe service is usually pretty quick despite the line. Read more
First, I?ve never seen pastries as tasty as they are beautiful! The sourdough bread was the best I?ve ever had in texture and... taste. The Jorgensen salmon sandwich was devoured within minutes in the car. It was so incredibly fresh, crunchy and light. Nocapers were necessary and would have overwhelmed the delicate and subtle flavors here. We bought a chocolate almond croissant, aquiche and a ham, egg snd cheese sandwich. Each was better than the next. The coffee was so balanced and not bitter. This isexcellence in action. I can?t wait to go back. Read more
