Reviews for Tryon House in Charlotte, NC
Great little breakfast spot. They have a unique dish called the hobo skillet that is definitely worth a stop. It is just a bunch... of goodness all wrapped into one. The staff is great and extremely friendly. Read more
My mom and I went to Tryon House this morning for breakfast. We were greeted when we arrived and put on the waiting list. As we... were waiting a man (I?m assuming he was the manager) told us they were not serving breakfast and it was up to us if we wanted tocontinue to wait for lunch. I wanted breakfast so we decided to leave. As I was leaving another customer walked in and askedwere they still serving breakfast. The same man that told me no, told him let me check. I felt that was unfair. I was flat outtold no. There was no ?let me check?. I can?t speak on the food but this action left me feeling unwelcomed and I don?t want tospend money where I am not welcomed. Read more
Prices were reasonable. Food was fine. I would come back!
The food was amazing! The omelet was huge. I ordered the veggie omelet and it was loaded with peppers, onions, mushrooms and... cheese. The best part of my meal was the home fries. Absolutely delicious! They were seasoned so perfectly. I kept eating themlong after I was full because I didn?t want to waste them they were so good. Great service too. I would definitely stop by againnext time I?m in the area. Read more
5 star for food and service. It?s a pretty old school southern breakfast you can?t go wrong. We ordered the Spanish omelette... with home fries (they are really good!), Hobo skillet which were yummy. Coffee is good too!! Read more
Customer service was great. I had the salt and pepper catfish dinner. The fish was hot and fresh but my sides was cold and my... tea was nasty it tasted like the tea pitcher needed to be cleaned. The dishes, cups and silverware are stained and outdated andin desperate need of an upgrade!!! Read more
Edit: The food has gone down drastically. There is no seasoning in anything anymore. The chicken sub was no good and the super... star was definitely not a star. The increase in prices and decrease in quality is a noticeable change and definitely not worthreturning back. Amazing ambiance and great service. The food was really delicious and service was quick. The restaurant staffwere friendly and that is always a plus point. Portions were sufficient. Chicken sub on a hoagie roll and deluxe chickensandwich both were delicious but the soup was absolutely scrumptious! Please keep up the great work. We will be back for more. Read more
I was pleasantly surprised when I checked out Tryon House for the first time today. This is pretty much a southern dining... restaurant with many protein options like country style steak, baked chicken, daily specials etc with farm-style sides likemashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salads etc. They also have sandwiches, gyros, and the like. If you?ve been to Sir GusSir Beef on the east side, you?ll know what to expect as it is similar. The service from the hosting to the serving is kind, helpful, and speedy! I enjoyed the broccoli soup which came complementary for dining in with my meal. The country fried steakwas fantastic with a nice crispy texture and ohhhh my the portions are massive. I?m staring inside my to go box as we speak, andthere is definitely room for another full meal in there! The cornbread is semi sweet and block shaped. The salad, althoughfairly basic with mostly lettuce and one tomato, was satisfying. I was slightly underwhelmed with the mashed potatoes so I wouldconsider passing on that next time. The sweet tea was wonderfully sweet and refreshing. The main star of the show to me whichcame recommended by my server was the chocolate pie. The chocolate pies (which stare you in the face as soon as you walk insidethe restaurant) are OUT OF THIS WORLD and perhaps some of the best I?ve ever had! You will definitely want to save room forthat. All in all, I 100% enjoyed my experience today and I am not surprised at all to know Tryon House has been doing theirthing for 27 years now! Check them out! Read more
