Southbound does a great job, serving neat and delicious Mexican dishes. My favorite is the chicken adobo tacos or the... beer-battered avocado tacos (YUM). They prices are pretty fair, and the cocktails are awesome. And the margarita is spot on. Ifyou come on the weekends, they also host bands at the Music Yard that's kind of built into the side. They have great parking,and the service is super friendly. In fact, I'd like to make a point of shouting out Jerome for his super fast and accurateservice. Thank you! Read more
Very nice hipster hangout where the service is extraordinary. Food was mediocre but presentation was great. Margaritas were... really weak. Our only issue was the street noise which made it really frustrating to have a conversation and not a place to goif you need a place to park a car. Read more
The atmosphere here was awesome. We came on a week night so it was not that busy but I am sure on the weekends with live music... it would be packed. Had the 3 tacos and the steak and chicken were great. All day breakfast is fine to pass. I would come backagain for a few drinks and tacos. Read more
I had avoided this place for a while, as I’ve been burned by “experience” style Mexican or shall we say modern Mexican.... However Southbound surprised me, I got the guacamole, and a friend got the cheese dip, both great flavor including the freesalsa and chips. For the drink I got one of their on tap margaritas, minus a touch too much salt on the rim it was more thanexpected being on tap. Food: grabbed the beef taco special, with rice and black beans. Let’s just say the ground beef had goodtexture and was not mush like most beef tacos. Rice and beans could’ve had a touch more seasoning, and I’ll probably passthe next go around. Went in for lunch today around 1230. They had a 15 min wait. The set up is really nice. The booths are nice. theres couches to... sit on. Theres outdoor seating. We ordered chorizo queso... its like 2 tablespoons of meat. The cheese is really good though.The elote off the cobb wasn't for me. I didn't like the cheese so im not going to say it was nasty. The birilla tacos didnghave any taste. We had drinks. They were good. The waitresses were kind. They made sure we had everything we needed beforewalking away. Read more
Tried out the tasty SouthBound on Saturday evening. Went with the classic chicken bowl. Very good and hardy. Chips and salsa... went well with it. Tad pricier when you add a cocktail. $30 ish including the tip. Outside seating is worth it on a nice day! Read more
Really enjoyed our dinner here! The host was very kind, the wait wasn't long, and the food was delicious. We sat outside and... unfortunately it was very windy, but that's not anyone's fault. I'd recommend they add some sort of awning in the summer, though- the sun was shining directly into the seating area and it was hard to look at the people across the table (even withsunglasses).
