Stopped in to see server and kitchen friends on a tuesdee- but also to witness a stalwart of restaurant-- and also- one of the... first restaurants I ever visited in Charlotte when I first moved here. (15 years ago, btw) We got the shrimp appetizer andwanted to drink the sauce it comes in- we settled for taking it to-go in a ramekin so we could smother it in anything wanting asauce in the fridge. Got the creole marinated chicken to go. Spectacular. Service was excellent. Warm and welcomingestablishment. Food was phenomenal. Let's keep up with supporting local, shall we? Small venue with a bar on one side and tables on the other. Get the pimento cheese fritters or fried green tomatoes for your... appetizer! I had the bayou smoked pasta with shrimp and it was delicious! The atmosphere is fairly casual, a nice place to bringthe family with no need to get overly dressed. They say its the little hidden spots that have the best food. We went to Letty's based on the food reviews of others. We arrived... when they just opened. To be honest the food was ok but I was not head over heels in love with it. The food looked so deliciouson the plate but just was lacking in the seasoning department. The food was so bland to me, I can understand that no one wantsover season food but food with no seasoning is not that great either. The other family members I was with felt the same. I would definitely recommend this place! I had been hearing about Letty's for about a year now and finally made it and it did... not disappoint. I took my parents in for lunch, we were welcomed in and seated right away. My parents split the Shrimp Creole,which was superb. I had been hearing about the honey pecan fried chicken so of course I had to try that. The portion was hugeand it came with a choice of two sides, I chose fried okra and broccoli casserole. Letty's is a quaint place off the beaten path! The food cooked by Chef Helen and her staff is immaculate and succulent! Best... ever! Drinks are reasonable with a great staff to greet you, seat you, and cater to your every need! Letty's is the perfectplace for business meetings, dinner, and brunch on the weekends!
