First off I would like to say This was by far the Best soul food in Charlotte! I ordered the pork chop dinner and my food was... finger licking good. My pork chops were fried to perfection. I got Greens and potato salad for my sides and babbby everythingwas scrumptious. I also got to meet the Owner Ken and she was so polite and welcoming as I was riding thru from out of town. So one of my employees told me about this place and let me say Kens did not disappoint! Food is on 1000! Hands down reminds you... of your grandma?s Sunday dinner. I order the below for dinner because I didn?t know how big the portions was. Now I ordered theFrieda salmon with cabbage and broccoli casserole and after the first bite I didn?t stop until it was gone. I was full and haveto save the other plate for the next day. Closed on Monday, & Tuesdays. Found this spot as it was recommended on YouTube. Inside, you order your food at the register, and... you can sit down to eat. I enjoyed their side dishes. The Collard Greens, Cabbage were both done to perfection. You can't eateveryone's potatoe salad, but Ken's Cooks is very good. I recommend the Fried Salmon. The crust is crunchy. A dish I never triedbefore, and now it's something I will try to make at home. The Turkey Wings were a little salty, and it wasn't tender. It wasokay though. Other than that, I enjoyed the food. I moved to Charlotte for work on a Sunday and I drove by it on a Monday , and was excited to get back here on Wednesday. ( see... hours on website.) I walked in and was welcomed into the restaurant. Customers were coming in and out lots of take out on theway home at 5 o'clock.The menu was easy to read also intriguing at the same time. Lots of choices plus 3 specials on the board .The food was cooked just like in a family's home. By the way mom's cooking it all.The portions are very big and filling. I hadgreat conversations during my meal and I couldn't ask for anything better especially being from out of town .
