We loved it. Great new spot for Bonterra. Quaint and comfortable. Went with our family but would return for date night or... getting together with friends. Our server was attentive and helpful. My son and I had the grilled salmon with the piccata sauce. My husband had the braised beef pasta dish and it was a unique combination of flavors that was delicious and hearty. I want toreturn on a cold night and order that dish just to warm me up. We also loved the special dumpling appetizer. Awesome selectionof wines by the glass. The Robert Foley Chardonnay was my favorite. Very elegant and smooth. As we left, my husband said this isour new place. We expect to be back often. Read more

This was our first time eating at Bonterra since they relocated to Phillip?s Place near Southpark, and our first time there... since pre-pandemic. The new location is beautifully and tastefully decorated, very open, not too crowded, with a spacious barand cavernous ceiling that prevented sounds from being too loud - loved it. The food was delicious, if a little heavy on thesalt. The filet was perfectly medium rare and tasty; both the Chilean sea bass and NC Trout were crispy on the outside but softand moist on the inside. The sauces were rich in flavor, even if that was a combination of plenty of salt and butter. Don?t getme wrong - I?m not complaining, but it might be too much for some people. This is probably not the right restaurant choice, ifyou?re on a low-sodium diet, is all I?m saying. The crème brûlée was a lovely finish. Excellent selection of wines, too. Theonly thing I would avoid? The tiramisu. While our waiter promptly replaced my wife?s tiramisu without question, which weappreciated, it was - without a doubt - the worst tiramisu we?ve ever tasted. It wasn?t just ?not good.? It was awful. Whoknows? Maybe something was missed in preparation by accident, and this was an exception? Given how good everything else was, Iwouldn?t be surprised, and I can understand that happening. Hopefully they?ll sort it out, and next time it will be delicious. This one item certainly won?t keep us from returning, that?s for sure. We will definitely be back. Read more

Everything about Bonterra exceeded my highest expectations! Attentive, formal, friendly service, leather bar seats and dining... room chairs, an extraordinary wine list, and the menu is far more sophisticated than the casual American cuisine it advertises.I enjoyed the Jumbo Shrimp Mediterranean. Fine dining at its FINEST! Next visit, I'll bring my family, and my professionalcamera. A photographer's paradise, images worth capturing. I don't see my original review so I submitted another one. I hopethis time, it takes! Read more

Excellent experience. Food was fantastic, service was thoughtful and not obligatory, which was refreshing. The space is... beautiful- open, classic but fresh and very appealing. Wonderful step-up from the old place. Reminiscent of many NYC eateries.Well done! I?ll be back! Read more

Underwhelming is the best word I can use to describe the food. Our server was kind but clearly needed better training. He would... be fine at a fast food or casual restaurant but not there. I ordered the black grouper with the California sauce option. It wasdescribed as a California salad with diced avocado, crab and heirloom tomatoes. This $50 piece of fish arrived pan fried into aflat, dried pancake and served with what was basically a pile of mushy guacamole on the side. It had very tiny pieces of tomato, smashed avocado, and I dug around and couldn?t find any crab. $50 really??? The presentation looked like something you would getat a cafeteria style restaurant! It was insulted honestly. Two people at my table had the pork chop and said that it was goodand the sides were ?ok?. Another person ordered the brisket pasta and it was dry and very very salty. The bar atmosphere is niceand I might return to only have a drink or possibly the Charcuterie at the bar if I were shopping in the center. I certainlywould not recommend it to anyone, there are so many better choices in Charlotte! Read more

Really went all out but so glad as we had plenty of food for everyone! Very nice open layout and kitchen. Staff was very... attentive and offered excellent wine pairing suggestions. I?m looking forward to trying breakfast, lunch, and especially Sundaybrunch! On a side note, the high top chairs are different but comfortable once you manage to get into them. Read more

Really wanted to love this place but the food was just ok. Our server was very nice. Our food runner could use a bit more... training (he brought us food we didn?t order). We split a ribeye and added a fried lobster tail. I really wish they had agrilled option as a healthier alternative. Also tried the heirloom tomato salad. It was kind of bland. There is a privateparking lot so that was a plus! Read more
