Today was my first time eating here and I?m very disappointed. I paid over $50 and only got 6 shrimp on the lunch special. The... food is bland and you can taste the oil that the shrimp was cooked in. It doesn?t even taste like teriyaki shrimp. The friedchicken had a weird after taste. The sushi was okay. Good food and very kind server in a quiet neighborhood location. Many of the orders to this restaurant are for pickup as the... inside has only 7 tables and can handle a group of no more than six. Recent inflation has pushed prices higher which may strainaffordability for some families. We tried out Blue Orchid on our way to an event in Charlotte after conducting a search for Sushi in the area. The waiter was... extremely friendly and attentive during our dining experience. Sushi was fresh and Blue Orchid has a unique spin on some of theclassics like Kani salad, Spicy Tuna and Spicy Salmon. After a work day, this was a pleasant place to order some dinner. The place was nice and quaint and the staff was very... friendly. While I was there, I did notice that they were sanitizing the menu. That made me glad that they were trying tokeep things clean and safe for everyone. I ordered the pork tonkotsu Ramen and salmon sashimi. The flavor was on point andthe portion was on par. Okay this place, blew me out the water and I'm from Charleston. Came up here to Carowinds with the family and decided on some... ???? and it was awesome. Really really close to my place back in Charleston I go to. But if you like fast food, great service,even though a really small place they will come get you out the car or call you. Just pulled out of the parking lot and felt compelled to write a review! This place is AMAZING. We ordered the lunch special... two rolls for $9, (salmon and avocado and crunch Cali) the caterpillar roll and crimson roll. This is by far the freshest sushiI?ve had, I mean look at those nice pieces of salmon and tuna in those rolls! The rolls were big also, definitely not skimpylike I?ve had at other places. Our waiter was fantastic, a very nice gentlemen and super attentive and friendly. You don?t seethat a lot anymore but you could tell he genuinely wanted you to have a great experience. I peeked at the sushi chef and wasamused and amazed at how carefully he crafted our caterpillar roll. You could tell he takes great pride in what he does. Blue Orchid is a wonderful spot. We went there on a Friday for lunch, and enjoyed the lunch specials (vegetable tempura meal for... $9, steak hibachi meal for $11, 8 piece sashimi meal for $11).
