Reviews for Bao and Broth in Charlotte, NC
Stopped here at daughter?s request and we ordered the fried chicken bao bun, bulgogi bao bun, and miso ramen. Chicken was a... little too crunchy and dry for our liking and was difficult to bite through the meat. The bulgogi was cooked better but neededa little more sauce. The bao bun was extremely fresh, fluffy and yummy. My daughter said she enjoyed her miso ramen bowl withchicken and other toppings. Check it out for yourself. Read more
I've been here dozens of times. The food quality has always been great. Tonight was a terrible exception. I usually don't write... bad reviews but the chef had already left, so I didn't know a better way to let them know how poor the food was this evening(8/16). I got two orders of the spicy pork ramen and I was very disappointed. The broth was just spicy water. No depth ,complexion, or flavor. The noodles tasted like they were cooked in unsalted water. Everything was just incredibly bland. Thiswas definitely a 1 star experience but I've just had so many GOOD meals here that I know they don't deserve 1 star for having abad day. I really hope this isn't a trend. Read more
This was a good Ramen place but it took way to long to get my soup so I dropped it a star because I felt while I was waiting... there watching the people behind the counter were just kinda fooling around and not doing much after 15 mins I went up to thecounter and then they said oh it's ready without texting me as they were supposed to do Read more
The food was delicious, but the workers working there were strange. I pointed out to them that the price of the food was... incorrect ($12.99 instead of $12 as advertised), and the worker told me he didn?t understand what I was talking about. Aftersome clarification, he explained that the prices listed were not correct and that they tacked on the extra $0.99 (not tax) foreveryone. I said whatever and paid, but the whole interaction was incredibly awkward. Not sure why they do that; I personallywould rather have correct advertisement because I?ll pay whatever price is listed. The bao buns were still yummy; I got theBelly Bun, Falafel Bun, and Fried Chicken Bun. I preferred Belly and Fried Chicken ones, but they were all good. Read more
At >$4 a la carte (or even 3/$12), the baos seem a bit pricey for what you get. The tonkatsu ramen is $13 but feels more... satisfying and reasonably priced. Read more
We were in the mood for something different. We tried the Pork Belly Bun, Tofu and Falafel. The Tofu had the strong spicy flavor... my husband prefers. The pork was real good, too! The falafel wasn?t bad. I was impressed with the employees working so hardgetting orders out- they look very organized and together. We?ll be back! Read more
There are soooo many food options at optimist hall. I had a taste for noodles and this place didn't disappoint. The ramen was... FAN-TAS-TIC!!! I will try the bao next time. I did add the shredded cabbage to my dish and that was fresh and crunchy. Read more
I loved it!!! Tasty, fresh, thick, and colorful?! You can taste all the vegetables without overpowering the pork broth. The egg... was cooked perfectly, it was easy to mix, and easy to eat. Just a little pricey for me. Read more
