Have visited many times when in Charlestown area of Boston. Busy almost every night, especially if Celts or Bruins are playing... at home. Decent, but not huge beer selection. Excellent clam chowder, maybe the best I have had. Most recent visit I had thegrilled chicken burrito bowl. Very enjoyable. Has some outside seating. Oh, and established in 1780! Read more

Came here while vacationing in Boston. One of the oldest taverns in Massachusetts and one of the oldest in America. We ordered... the Lobster Mac n Cheese and the Lobster Roll. Also ordered the French Onion Soup and the Clam Chowder. Our server Erika wasvery nice and friendly. She gave us a lot of insight of Charlestown. The food was great and music/atmosphere was superb.Definitely a cool little place to checkout if you?re in the area! Read more

We had a good time at Warren Tavern. It was our first visit and we got a couple drinks, Bloody Mary was good. The Lobster Mac &... Cheese was decent, not the best I?ve ever had but good. The Shepherds Pie was great, it had a strong nutmeg taste in the meat,so if that?s not your thing you might want something else. Overall, service was pretty good, a little slow in the beginning butthey were busy so it was understandable. Very cute restaurant overall in Charlestown! Read more

Honestly, I likely would not have gone here except for the fact that it was Paul Revere?s favorite place. Yes, that Paul Revere.... However, I?m sure it was a bit different back in his day. There was nothing stellar with the service, although there was nothingnegative. They did their job. I did not have to wait long for my food. The helping size was perfect and maybe even a littlelarge. The clam chowder was really good and I don?t like clam chowder. The entrée I had was so so. It was rather bland, but Iate it all and it was filling. Read more

For a historic tavern that attracts a lot of tourists, Warren Tavern has some good deals and a good variety of basic pub foods.... We came in for their weekday happy hour $1 oysters and got 3 dozen oysters, city square burger, and some clam chowder. Thepresentation of the oysters wasn?t fancy, but their quality was as good as any other oysters you can get around the city. Boththe chowder and the burger were very basic, and I liked the creaminess of the chowder. Service was superb, and they had a goodamount of seatings available both indoor and outdoors. However, since they usually get crowded during dinner times, I wouldrecommend making a reservation in advance or coming in during their happy hours on weekdays. Read more

Cozy pub with fantastic clam chowder! The menu was slightly overpriced for some items, but the food is pretty good and local. I... wish the service was a little bit faster, we had to wait for water refills for quite some time. Read more

Popped in on a Monday to see the historic place and have a drink/snack. It was 25% full at 4 and 75% full by 5. The beer was... cold. The onion soup was delicious. The bartender was very friendly and welcoming. No oyster shooters on the menu, but a serverbrought a group everything they needed to make their own! Read more

Oldest Tavern in Boston! Food is great, ordered chicken sandwich, burgers, fries and nachos. Also got the clam chowder. Probably... the best clam chowder I?ve ever tasted. Not to soupy and not to thick. It was perfect. I would go back just for the chowder! Read more
