I hate to leave a poor review, but our experience at this bar genuinely put a damper on our first night in Charleston. The bar... staff were not only unwelcoming, but were actively rude. The host did not want us to take the last three seats at the bar; andonce we sat, the bartender sneered at us for asking a simple question. We were then ignored for the duration of our onebeverage, and when we finally flagged someone down to ask for a check we had to recount our order because they had never evenadded us to the system. We came in Friday night for the tasting menu. It was absolutely incredible for the price point and we were extremely happy! -the... “sommelier in training” did a wonderful job paring the wines with the courses and his descriptions were interesting anddifferent from the norm -we will definitely come again the next time we’re in Charleston -the only thing we didn’t care foror thought was weird was after there was a band playing so we stayed and the service and experience went the other direction. Update: Brunch When in town, we just HAVE TO visit Warehouse the Lux :) We loved the new Spring tasting menu. Their brunch is... also incredible. We ordered the whole menu and some cocktails to try, it was enough food for 3 adults and a kid. Some plates aresmall, others are regular portions. Shakshuka was great, mushroom grits were out of this world amazing. Home made sourdoughbread soaked in custard and turned into a French toast was my favorite! Espresso martini made with aged Diplomatico rum was alsoa hit. Nice chill atmosphere and French bistro music not to be beat. Get the table by the window to people-watch or enjoy somesun. Overall A++ as always! Had a little Charleston vacation. We were recommended to go to the new warehouse the lux, and letme tell you, the atmosphere of the place is magical, nice music, the staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered some thingsfrom the menu and it was very delicious and unique. We come from a big city and it was a big surprise to have such nice originalfood. They deserve a Michelin star. What an incredible restaurant! Our group opted for the 12-course tasting menu with both the standard and reserve wine pairings... just to try it all. And what a treat it was! Over a couple of hours, we went on a foodie’s odyssey with plate after plate ofinnovative cuisine that combined exotic ingredients with picture perfect plating to create one of the most satisfying diningexperiences we’ve ever had. It really says something when everyone in the group said it was one of the best dinners of theirlives and I felt the same way. The ingredients are mostly local and the menu is seasonal so we’ve got plenty of reason tocome back soon. The wine pairings were phenomenal and enhanced the food that much more-kudos to their sommelier for a job welldone. We were totally stuffed! The cost was very reasonable for the entire experience. Wowwwww dude. I am at a lost for words for the new tasting menu at The Lux at The Warehouse. So a-vant-guard. It’s very foody,... very inventive, unlike anything I’ve had in a while. Going from lightest to heaviest I had one of everything and was full bythe end. Valentina is one of the best servers I’ve ever had. Zack and Brandon are the chefs and they executed perfectly. Itwas like farm-to science class-to table. Lots of textures and flavors. This is a must try if you like food. Read more
I am not one to leave reviews, but the service my friends and I received on an early Saturday evening was one of the worst... experiences I’ve ever had in a bar or restaurant. First the host greeted us - the restaurant was about 15% full but he wasvery reluctant for us to take the three open seats at the bar. Once we sat down we were really excited about the drink menu -everything looked and sounded amazing. The bartender came over and asked if we were ready and we said we had a few questions.His annoyed response: “you’re not going to ask what’s good are you?” I tried to ask a few specific questions about thedrinks I was deciding between and got only condescending, short responses. Drinks came, they were delicious. Then we never hadany bartender interaction for the rest of the night - no water, two of us sat with empty cocktail glasses and we would havegladly ordered another while our friend finished hers, and we had to try for 10+ minutes to close out our tab. We were soexcited to pop into what looked like an awesome spot, but unfortunately the service was so bad that even the most outstandingcocktails couldn’t make up for it. Read more
