You can’t go wrong if you start your day at Virginia’s on King! We got breakfast here before we left Charleston at the end... of our vacation and it was a good way to cap an excellent trip off! My wife got the Chicken and Waffles and it was what youexpected. It was a piece of fried chicken, a Belgian waffle and a hot honey type sauce. It was good but it was nothingspecially. Personally, I prefer my chicken and waffles with a different type of waffle but it wasn’t bad by any means! I hadthe Eggs Benedict and personally I felt it was a little special. The one thing it had over a regular eggs Benedict was it had aTabasco powder on it. To me this little bit of kick really set the dish off and made it special! I loved it and I wouldrecommend it to anyone! Same is said for Virginia’s on King. It is a cute southern restaurant with good southern food! Read more

Cocktails were awesome and creative. Loved my cheesey grits. We talked about the mashed potatoes all weekend. I think the pork... chop could have benefited from a sweet glaze or dipping sauce but it was well cooked The table tasted my guest’s Mac andcheese… no one was all that impressed The kitchen sink potatoes should come with more ranch because it’s DIVINE. So was thecorn bread Read more

Stopped here for lunch recently. Good selection of salads and sandwiches and some Southern classics. Had the meatloaf sandwich... which was tasty but could have used some more tomato paste/sauce for added flavor. It came on Texas toast with grilled onions.(I skipped the fried egg). Others in the group had the seasonal salad with chicken which they said was very good, and anothergot the pimento cheese BLT which looked yummy. The drink menu is lacking for my taste and included drinks used flavoredschnapps, vodkas and such. Despite that I did try the Sweet Tea Margarita which was refreshing. Read more

I'll begin with the food (because that's most important). Most of the reviews here are for brunch or breakfast. I've never... done either. They don't do dinner Monday through Wednesday, but when they do it's worth it! Photos with this review show theshe crab soup, seasonal salad, cheeseburger, and Tabasco maple salmon with mac & cheese and black eyed peas. All are delicious. The salmon lacks any "kick" despite the Tabasco reference. Although the food is worth it, service can be hit or miss, and thebathrooms could use more attention. Finally, do yourselves (and the staff) a favor and MAKE A RESERVATION. Read more

We had a reservation for 6 at noon. Our party was seated around 1210 upstairs. The downstairs was busy and energetic with mostly... natural lighting which I liked. The menu was balanced with options but not too many. I ordered the chicken biscuit sandwich witha pancake on the side. The server was nice(seemed overworked though) our food took a really long time to get to the table. Thefood wasn’t as flavorful as I’d hope but overall the food was good. Ordered two cocktails which came out fast and tastedgood. Parking is mostly on street so be prepared to walk a few blocks. Nice vibes but I wouldn’t go back as the food didn’tfit my pallet. Enjoyable experience with good food and nice atmosphere. Country Benedict has a great poached egg and the bacon biscuit was... huge. If anything a little too much biscuit and could use a bit more bacon. The restaurant is fairly small so a reservation isimportant for a weekend visit. Also the dining area can get somewhat noisy as tables get bussed. Otherwise the cocktails weregreat and service was friendly and quick. Would recommend as a great way to start off a Sunday. Traveled to Charleston for a weekend getaway. Saw Virginia's on King and thought we'd give it a try. It was around noon and they... offered brunch. We didn't have a reservation but since someone didn't show up, they were able to accommodate us. No wait. Thelocation is great - located in historic downtown Charleston, so within walking distance from our hotel. The food was decent andthe drinks were good. My husband and I both had the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, I had home fries and he had grits. I had a peachBellini and he had a Bloody Mary. The customer service was excellent meaning our server was friendly and helpful withselections. I'd recommend. Read more
