Overheard a carriage tour guide touting The Griffon so decided to check it out. Great food and atmosphere! Staff was super... friendly and helpful. We tried fried pickles and the fish and chips and were more than satisfied with everything. Wonderfulplace! Read more
It was a pleasant experience. The fried chicken sandwich was good. Really loved the interior decoration and overall atmosphere... of the place. Did not have any drinks just the dinner. But I bet it will be a fun place to have a couple of beers on a sultryCharleston day. And the neighborhood is quite beautiful as well. Read more

What a fantastic experience, we finished off our Charleston day trip with lunch at The Griffin. It was such a great atmosphere,... walked right in and sat down. Staff was friendly and speedy, beer was great and food was delicious. Definitely coming back andbringing family. Read more
Been a few times and really enjoy it. It's just bar food but it's GOOD bar food. Fried pickles have a bit of spice. The fish... and chips are some of the best fish I've ever had. The southwest salad was supposed to have black beans and corn but mine didn'tcome with any. If you can grab a seat while walking by it's definitely worth a visit! Read more
Stopped by on a whim after visiting the Pineapple Fountain. Customers coming out said it was good and fast, and recommended... the fried pickles. In short - we would recommend The Griffon as well! Stepping inside the smallish pub, it was busy, but notoverly crowded (1:30 on a Tuesday). We remarked on the sheer number of dollar bills posted on the walls... they even coveredthe deer head! The fried picked were spears - we usually prefer chips - but were really tasty with just a hint of spice. Weenjoyed a hamburger patty, the fish and chips, and a BLT. The food was served quickly and was piping hot. I will admit, thefish was excellent and falling apart tender. The burger appeared to be a homemade patty, but was tasty. The BLT was yummy. The slaw was good; I prefer a sweeter slaw, which this was. The servers were attentive and recommended several ales andencouraged us to try them to figure out what we wanted. The only negative was the price. The draft bets were a little pricy, as was the food. We spent close to $80 for the three of us due lunch with 2 beers, plus gratuity. But it was a greatlocation.
