Dinner was excellent. I did the ?look back? when we left???? Each plate felt meticulously flavored. Our waitress was... amazing, we even met the chef who brought us a test dessert (photo included!!) and the host checked in at all the right moments.Music was great too. Too many little touches from Tempest to list. Can?t wait for our next meal! Thank you Tempest Family! Read more

Thanksgiving 2022 will go down in the books as DELICIOUS! We spent our Thanksgiving in Charleston and planned to eat out. ... After a google search of available places open for Thanksgiving Tempest popped up so I quickly made the reservation. We arrivedright on time for our reservation but they were a little behind with our table so we waited at the bar. I loved that theycommunicated with us on the status of the table AND they even provided us with a complimentary glass of champagne while wewaited! Dinner was a three course meal that was absolutely amazing! The sweet potato bisque soup, steak and desert werememorable to say the least. I didn?t even get a photo of the steak cause it was so good! They really made our Thanksgivinggreat! Next time we are in Charleston we plan to stop in and you should too! Read more

If you?re reading reviews in order to decide if you should book, stop now and book those reservations! Here we go - we were... greeted with champagne as we were celebrating a big anniversary (I?ll keep that number quiet!). Our server was immediatelywelcoming, warm, intentional and focused on my husband and I having a lovely meal AND experience. For an appetizer, we had theravioli but the bread, stop it, it was award winning goodness, don?t skip those carbs! We ordered the trio seafood tower andeverything was perfect. We ended with the ?some more? dessert, I?ve forgotten the name but it?s a play on s?mores. However, don?t be fooled, this isn?t a simple dessert. It is now in my top 3 desserts of a lifetime. The cognac, cigar, rose? it?s all onbrand and a fun ending. I?ve had dinner at their sister restaurant, Church and Union, how fun to have two places with such adifferent yet fabulous vibe. You can?t go wrong here. Read more

One of our most memorable meals in Charleston. The food was delicious! We ordered the octopus, roasted oysters, grouper, and... snapper, and the ?some more? dessert. The best part though was the unique way in which we received the bill (won?t spoil but thepictures give some hints). Will be coming back for sure next time we are in town! Read more

You are missing out if you haven't eaten here. At the end of Market Street, the old church building. Their food is fresh,... delicious and flavors are well balanced. Their menu is seasonal with a few staples that remain year round. You can order DomPerignon or a local beer. Great drink selection and food menu. I would not recommend bringing young children here as this diningexperience is best enjoyed as an adult atmosphere. The vibes are relaxed and the staff is more interested in you enjoying yourmeal than rushing you out the door for the next guest. Plan on a relaxed meal you can enjoy at your own pace. Can't wait toreturn! Read more

The service was exceptional, and the food was superb. Every aspect of their dishes are designed with incredibly fresh and tasty... ingredients, even within their cocktail menu. Easily one of the best meals I've ever consumed! I loved the atmosphere, especially with the lovely mosaic inside the main dining area. Their tradition of signing your name into a copy of The Tempest(by Shakespeare) which the restaurant is named after is quite unique and memorable. You would be crazy to not eat here at leastonce. Excellent service (especially from the manager and our waitress Marty), the restaurant has a real nice patio out front where we... sat but the inside is very cool too with an awesome sea mosaic on the ceiling. Their nori infused bread was ridiculously good, the sweet potato side was insane with it?s crust, the ?premium? oysters left A LOT to be desired, the salad we ordered wasdelicious, we got 1 pound of shrimp roasted in their special oven and it was excellent, and their sides were good as well.Desert was so so but I think we just ordered wrong. They brought out complimentary cognac and a cigar for me, and a rose for mywife. Overall, it was a really good meal and a great vibe/atmosphere. Would return and highly recommended. Read more
