This place is definitely top notch. I was celebrating my birthday a little early and we decided to dine here. Although I was... really ecstatic about the drinks we had, the entrees were second to none. I had the Beef Short Ribs and my Lady had theRotisserie Chicken. They were both very nice portions and, most importantly, they were flavorful! We're already planning to comeback in the very near future. Next time we'll check out the rooftop. Read more

I went for brunch Sunday. It was a nice atmosphere, live music. The brunch menus was very small, not much to choose from. We... weren?t offered any drinks (juice or coffee) besides wine. The food was greasy and cold. The portions were off. I love Frenchtoasts, those were not good. Too greasy. Maybe dinner is different. Would I try this place again? I?m not sure. Too pricey forthe amount and quality of the food received. Read more

Underwhelming experience. Reviews were high for this restaurant and we were looking for an ?upscale? place for dinner. We made... reservations and had to take a late seating since the restaurant is so popular. Inside its more refined than some of the othersurrounding dining establishments. Our table wasn?t ready so we were asked to wait at the bar so we ordered a round of drinks. Drinks were ok; Lavender Lemonade, El Matador, and Made Man in Charleston on No. 2. Bartenders weren?t very friendly orconversational?.maybe in part to the restaurant being extremely loud. For a place thats trying to be a bit more ?classy? it waslouder than a college bar on game day. Once we were seated the waitress came by to give menus and take drink orders. We had toask about any specials. Surprising they were out of chicken and the crab fettuccine (meaning 2 of their 6 specialities weren?tavailable). And while there wasn?t crab for the pasta they still could make anything ?Oscar? by adding crab, sauce, andasparagus. Ordered the roasted beet and strawberry salad for a starter. It was delicious and enough for 2 to split. I got thepork chop for dinner. I wasn?t happy with my selection. Although the pork was moist it was tough and difficult to cut evenwith a steak knife. It was hard to describe because usually if a cut is tough its also dry or overcooked. This wasn?t. Andalthough moist it was flavorless and had no seasoning. My husband got the ocean harvest with mahi-mahi and also said it wasflavorless. The others in our party didn?t have much to say about their selections. Another negative was the location of ourtable. As I said we had a late seating and there were other open tables but we were seated right across from the elevator andstairs that go to the rooftop bar. All through dinner and increasingly as the night went on patrons came and went up and downto use the elevator and stairs to get to the roof top. It just added to the noise factor and made th Read more

We visited Stars twice while we were in town. Once for drinks on the rooftop and once for breakfast before we left. The rooftop... atmosphere was great & everyone was having a blast! Not too much of a dancing bar, but a good place to hang out for drinks. Therestaurant downstairs is a little more expensive, but the staff does their best to get everyone seated and make sure they aretaken care of! Read more

Chef Pope is AMAZING!! The menu is perfect by keeping it small and there were plenty of choices. The "frogmore" chowder was... creamy and delicious topped with a perfectly seared scallop. I adored the preserved duck salad! The apple gave it the rightamount of sweet with savory. My Ribeye was one of the best I've had in Charleston. PERFECTLY seasoned and cooked to MediumRare. And the desserts were so good we had to order all three(for the two of us) our server was busy but took excellent care ofus, not missing a beat. Fortunately Robert suggested the walnut cake so we added that and my goshhhhhh,Hats of to the pastrychef. I must add my kudos to the bartender for my rum punches. We had an INCREDIBLE date night at this Foodie Gem on King St! Read more

Such an awesome experience! The staff were super warm and welcoming the entire visit. The octopus was surprisingly tender and... some of the best we've had. The apple salad was very well balanced with the goat cheese and fruits, and so refreshing. The flanksteak was cooked perfectly and seasoned beautifully. The goat cheese mashed potatoes were so tasty and creamy, but notoverpowering. Definitely one of my favorites! The cheesecake was SOOO creamy and delicious. The creme brulee was nice, and thewhipped cream on the side helped tie it all together. We ordered the restaurant week menu and it did not disappoint. You cantell how much they care about the food here! I'm so happy we came and now I'm excited to come back for their regular menu! Read more

The food was delicious, the only reason for 4 stars(pun intended) is that my risotto wasn't fully cooked. Though they took it... off the check so it was appreciated. The service was awesome! Read more
