Very strange experience on 11/3/21. Three of us tried to go there, but their greeter (Brian?) attempted at all costs to keep us... from being able to get service.\n\nAfter we entered, Brian walked by us and dismissively said \"we\'re full\" as he passed by us- he did not even make eye contact.\n\nI walked up to him and said we were happy to stand at the bar ? he said that\'s notallowed. Then I motioned to an empty corner near the big window - there was plenty of room (and a ledge) in this corner, and Iasked if we could stand over there while we waited for a table/stools to open up. He said no, because it was too close to hisgreeter stand. This is not true - we would not have been in his way. I did notice an empty cocktail glass on the ledge in thiscorner, which would indicate someone was using the corner before us.\n\nAs Brian and I were talking, a table of two overheard usand offered to let us sit with them. Proof?s tables are very long, and there was plenty of room for the 3 of us to sit at theirtable. Brian said that was not allowed because we did not know them, and that?s against their COVID rules. COVID rules?!? Thosewho have been to Proof know it\'s a TINY bar and they had every table and bar stool in use. Zero social distancing, and Brianwasn\'t wearing a mask. Don\'t throw COVID rules at me when your bar clearly isn\'t doing anything to be COVID safe. We can\'tsit with strangers? What about the people sitting at the bar ? do ALL of them know each other?\n\nThen, as this is allhappening, two bar stools open and we try to talk over to the bar, but Brian tells us we cannot because we had 3 people andthere were only 2 stools open.\n\nBy the way: this was the first bar we had stopped at that night and all three of us were 100%totally sober that that time.\n\nThere are tons of great cocktail bars in Charleston - Stay away from this one!\n\nUPDATE: Takea look at the snarky response from the owner below. If Brian would have told us they were at legal cap Read more

I was also there on the night of Wednesday 11/3 - I was one of the 3 guys and witnessed Brian (we think his name was Brian,... we\'re not 100% sure) doing everything in his power to make sure we could not have a seat there. Absolutely terribleexperience. There are so many other great spots in Charleston - AVOID THIS ONE! Read more

I love Proof and try to make it any time I am in town. Amazing cocktails, truly hand crafted from beginning to end. Sam and... Keith we\'re particularly wonderful to talk to on this trip since I was by myself. The regular patrons are phenomenal. Idefinitely think this is a must for cocktail lovers visiting CHS. And don\'t forget to tip your bartender. Read more

BEST CHARLESTON CRAFT COCKTAIL BAR!! This place is a must go to if you care about the quality of your drinks. Bartenders will go... off menu and picked perfect drinks each time. Highly recommended. Try the Knuckleball with pickled boiled peanuts or the lion?stail! Army navy is always a winner, too. Read more

Just got here after they open at 4:45pm. The place was empty. The bartender Jimmy welcomed us and served us happy hour drinks.... $7 each. Jimmy was super friendly and knowledgeable. Old fashion was just perfect. They will let you steer it yourself. Dark &Stormy is a must try drink. They also serve food and have specials on it. Read more
