Absolutely delicious! My friend and I came from CA to eat and drink our way through the beautiful city of Charleston. During our... 5 day trip, Mesu held rank at #1. The sushi was out of this world. The drinks were delicious, too. Our server JP (I think thatwas his name) was super friendly and welcoming. Couldn’t recommend this place enough! Read more

We enjoyed our meal at Mesu. Natalia was great. Very accommodating to our boys. We love both of these cuisines together.... Everything was good. The only downside was the high prices and loud music. Guess we're getting old.. ???? Read more

Mexican meets Sushi. Odd combination but it works here. Small place with quirky and colorful surroundings. Lots of tequila to... choose from. Margs were good as were the cocktails. He got the Habanero glazed edamame for a starter. It was underwhelming.Edamame arrived piping hot to the table and it was fresh but there wasn’t any indication of habanero on them. I got The tacosalad with grilled chicken and it was great; full of flavor and the quantity was ample. My husband got the Mesu roll and saidits some of the best sushi he’s ever had. He really enjoyed the flavor profile (ahi tuna, avocado, escolar, jalapeñotomatillo salsa, and cilantro). Service was good. Read more

We finally made it down there to eat a couple of weeks ago. I like the wall art and the laid-back feeling of the restaurant.... The food was good, my kids enjoyed it. I am not sure that I would necessarily come back. For sure would be a good place to havea cocktail and an appetizer Read more

In Charleston for the weekend and this was our first meal here. I’d never thought about pairing Mexican cuisine with sushi but... I must admit it’s a great pair. The chips and salsa were wonderful. The seasoning on the chips gave them great flavor and thesalsa was super fresh. The tacos were amazing. The braised beef was the best of the ones we had. The sushi was also top-notch.The Dynamite Roll was actually spicy, and I really appreciated that. It is on the pricey side but it’s definitely worth it.The restaurant is quite small, and can get quite loud, so if loud noises bother you, you may be better suited to order take-out.I had read that the service was slow, but we were in and out in less than an hour. I would definitely go back. Read more

Had a good dining experience here. We didn't have any reservations but still were seated at a high table quickly. The only... caveat is we need to finish our meal in about an hour, from order to finish. Initially I thought this might be challenging butI was extremely surprised by the speed of service in this place. I think my food was literally prepared in like 5 min andeverything is ready. So fast. And they tasted really good as well. The only one thing I don't like was that deep fried porktaco, which actually was their main recommended dish. But everything else is on point and tasty. Highly recommend. Read more
