Let me start by saying I had a good time there last night. I left a local conference and just needed a bar to grab some beers,... watch the game, and grab some food. I drank bottled beer that was cold, went down very smooth after a long day, they have asmoking area out back, and I grabbed some food after several beers. Atmosphere was nice, the bartender was awesome, veryattentive, and held my seat (they were slow) when I went out on the back patio for a smoke. That said, while I was throwing backbeers I was looking at the menu, not a real authentic Mexican place, but hey, it?s a college bar, but I was watching the cookand the kitchen , honestly I was questioning the food by watching the cook and the cleanliness of the kitchen. I do not thinkthey have cleaned the kitchen, I mean really cleaned it in years. The lights above the grill were coated in thick grease and thecook was wearing cloves when he touched the seasonings and the cheese, but would rip the gloves off and handle the cooked foodunder the grill, the meats. One thing I noticed is all the trays of meats were FULL when I arrived and when I left, meaning Iwas about to eat day or days old meat and anyone there tonight would be eating older meat, be careful. After throwing back a lotof beer, I am no lightweight, I heard the cook say he was closing the kitchen just before 10. The bartender hearing this said Ineeded to order before he closed, so I ordered the steak burrito and Mexican pizza, both were meals by themselves but I washungry and still skeptical. The food cost maybe $26 and my bar tab was double, I said I drank some beer. I tanned out and putthe beer on my card and the food on company card, the company does not pay for alcohol. I tipped in cash, $40, only because Ifelt bad for the bartender getting stiffed by a few other patrons and honestly because she was great, like I said she wasawesome and well deserved the tip. I walked the five minutes back to the hotel and ate the food. I wanted to g Read more

Drinks and food are great! College place for sure, but I can bring my family and they enjoy their time too. The back has a... smoking area and dog friendly as well. Cheap and affordable but will fill you up. It can get loud in the weekends but dies downduring the week days. Read more

So after visiting a couple of bars on king st, we were almost ready to give up looking for a semi quiet, less clubby atmosphere... on a weekend. Enter this awesome place, couldn't be more pleased. Margaritas are great. Staff is incredible. Definitelyrecommend. Read more

WOW! What a beautiful pile of steak and chorizo nachos! It wasn't just beautiful; it was delicious! The ingredients were... perfectly portioned such that the past nacho had cheese, beans, and meat! Read more

Delicious food. I got the blackened shrimp tacos with mango salsa and they were so good. Waitress was friendly. Not super... crowded when we walked in. However once the crowd picked up it was REALLY loud. I know the establishment can't help that butit's the only reason for a 4 star rating. Food and service were great. Read more

Walked in on a Friday night trying to get some late food. Sat at a table and nobody acknowledged us, so I asked a worker walking... by if there was anything special we needed to do to order. She said the bartender would come take order, but she looked swamped,so we waited for some seats to become available at the bar as we figured if we sat there, we would get serviced quicker. Wrong!Sat at bar and still got ignored by female bartender. A male bartender came up sometime later and took our order. Started withfrozen margaritas, which were delicious, then ordered food. I started with chips and salsa. The salsa tasted very fresh and thechips were perfectly sized and salted. The only issue I had is that you get a small cup of salsa to go with it and then theycharge $3 for extra salsa. You would think you would get as much salsa as you want when you order the chips and salsa. My buddyordered nachos and beware...the half plate is enough to feed two people. I couldn't even imagine how big the full plate was. Those were good. I then ordered a beef quesadilla. That was good. Overall, the food is great, but I only wish the servicematched. Read more

Let's start with why I didn't give 5 stars. The food has gone downhill. I got steak quesadillas, they tasted like roast beef... quesadillas. The chorizo and queso sucked. But the bartenders are Pro's with great personalities. You will get amazing service, and drinks that are blended perfectly. Great wait staff that really care about the customer. Dump the kitchen staff and get somenew blood in there. I will go back anytime for drinks, but food is out of the equation. The MT. Pleasant location has a betterquality of food. Read more

Terrific Margaritas. I had "Grandma's" Margarita with Patron, my husband had the House Margarita. The shrimp nachos were okay.... Staffing the front were welcoming and friendly. Staff in the back patio section were inattentive. Read more
