Walked in to Halls Chophouse to the greeting of Mr. Hall and the Sunday Brunch Gospel Choir. This is high on the must-do in... Charleston. Brunch recommendations below in stack ranked order of best dishes: 1a) French Toast (if your preference is sweet,this is wonderful and our family favorite) 1b) Shrimp & Grits (if your preference is savory, this shrimp & grits is fabulous) 3)Traditional Eggs Benedict 4) Prime Rib Egg Benedict 5) Sweet Potato Pancakes Wished we would have tried the Crab Benedict.Really wish we would have tried the steak sandwich. The bacon that came with the French Toast and Pancakes was amazing. TheShe-Crab Soup was full of flavor, and the popovers were hot and steamy as you opened them. Be aware, you pay for your fountaindrink by the glass. 2 glasses of Coke Zero for $8 seemed steep. The service though is as good as the food and traditionalSouthern hospitality is on full display. Wow! The owner held the door open for us and shook our hands?the start of an amazing dining experience. The service was... outstanding. This is the best steak restaurant we?ve been to! Highly recommend making a reservation and dining at Halls. Theytreat you like family! They were very accommodating with dietary requests as well. Halls Chophouse had not only exceptional food, but also gave an exceptional experience. First off, reservations seem to be a... MUST! I booked about a month in advance and my options were 1600 or 2200. Upon getting there, everyone was so welcoming andasked if we were celebrating anything, which we were for our anniversary before my husband deployed. Once we were seated, wewere given complimentary glasses of champagne and got the full run down of meats, their quality, and specials for the night. Thefood was spectacular. Especially walking around all day, it hit the spot, and the portions are perfect! Towards the end, Billythe owner, came by and had the sweetest conversation with us, bringing more complimentary champagne and also paid for ourdessert. He was the sweetest and his staff clearly think highly of him, as do we. We could not have asked for a better dinnerand for better service! I went to Halls for my anniversary. I was early for my reservation and despite being very busy, I was quickly accommodated. The... manager was fantastic and toasted our anniversary. The wait staff was very attentive and very knowledgeable. The waiter answeredall our questions and made some very fantastic recommendations. The food was fantastic. Very nice place to dine. For me it was about the customer service. The owner or head manager and assistant manager welcomed us... several times and sincerely wanted us to have a great experience. The two team waiter team was phenomenal! And the live music.Wow! OUTSTANDING! However... you will not hear the live music while sitting in the dining room. Only in the bar area. We hadfield green salad, salmon, fried green tomatoes, and the shrimp and grits, and chocolate cake. Everything was outstanding. AMUST try. Read more
What a way to be greeted when entering. Lots of staff and owner giving a warm welcome. Make sure to make reservations in... advance. We got lucky to get in same day. Food was great. Service was excellent. Steaks were perfect. Dry aged ribeye was themost flavorful steak I've ever had. I've had dessert tray presentations but not a steak cut presentation. Highly recommend. The most amazing dining experience of my life. My husband and I went to Halls in Charleston to celebrate our 5 year anniversary... and they pulled out all stops, we felt so cared for and everyone was so friendly! The food was incredible, the best steak I?veever had hands down! The sides were delicious too and the bourbon bread pudding was a great way to top off the perfect meal.
