We went for a late lunch on a Friday around 2. Got a server in training which is fine if they would have done a fair job. The... trainer and trainee were not available to order more drinks or clear our used plates and glasses. The food was hammered. ShrimpPo boy with hard chewy shrimp and a quesadilla drenched in oil (from the "broken" cheese). There are too many great places rightaround there to revisit this place. The gentleman who kept bringing our food was the only one who asked if we were happy andreordered drinks for us. Hence the 2 stars. He was awesome. Read more
Came to watch Thursday night football, everything was fine. I close out and write on the check as clear as day, $15 tip, the... tab was $70. I leave and as I get in my car my bank notifies me of the charge, with a $70 tab and a $25 tip. I call Charlestonsports pub to notify them that a mistake has been made. My bartender answers the phone her name was Montana and informs me whenI explain the situation that they go by totals on the check, and I had made a mathematical error and that she would not bechanging the tip total despite my explanation. Truly unbelievable, if the math added up against the bartenders favor would shehave referenced the tip or the total? It pains me to write this review as a bartender but every night I am tasked with closingchecks out and I make a decision to do it with integrity. The good: great place to chill for a few hours watching sports. Staff always keeps the drinks topped off. Some of the food was... excellent. The bad: took an hour from ordering to getting food. Not a good place if you're in a hurry. The raw fries or "pubchips" were so overcooked potato chips would be better. Read more
