Reviews for 167 Raw Oyster Bar in Charleston, SC
A great lunch stop on King for some fresh seafood. We enjoyed our meal sitting at the counter and testing shrimp cocktail,... oysters and lobster sandwiches. Lobster sandwiches were good, but we wished we would have shared since they were so rich on thatbuttery crispy bread (so yummy). Read more
Oysters were fresh and their variety from different regions was a welcome change. We ate them before I could snap a picture... because they looked and were so delicious. The Halibut ceviche was fresh, with the perfect amount of tang and sweet. The lobsterroll may have been one of the best I have eaten. It had a buttery bread roll which was stuffed with fresh lobster. It did notdisappoint. Read more
I knew I wanted oysters and we were told this was one of the best places to get them. We were warned that there would be a wait.... We were quoted 45 minutes but spots at the bar opened up in about 30 minutes. I never know what kind of oysters to get. InHouston, we don?t have choices. We ordered a New Brunswick oyster and a SC oyster. The SC one was too salty for my husband. Ithought it was ok but we both preferred the NB oyster. I started out with a spicy margarita. It was pretty strong - and good.We also got the ceviche. It actually had too much liquid in it but the flavor was good and the chips were very flavorful. Weweren?t sure what to order as a main course but the person next to me had the tuna burger and it looked delicious so we orderedthat to split. They were very nice and brought it out split on 2 separate plates for us. I really enjoyed the burger. It wasserved on a brioche bun with a side of potato chips. I am glad we split it because I would not have been able to finish it on myown after 2 appetizers. Read more
167 Raw did not disappoint. The Crispy Oysters were superb and the cold Lobster Roll (although I prefer hot) was still... great. We tried raw oysters from New Brunswick, Maine and Washington state. The latter was a bit salty, definitely preferredthe first two. A bit on the pricey side, but I?d definitely go back. Read more
One of our favourite restaurant experiences in Charleston! We went a bit later around 9:00 and waited about 20-25 mins for a bar... seat in front of the oyster station. We ordered a variety of raw oysters and the ceviche, which changes daily. The cocktailswere delicious and the service was great! Best oysters in Charleston! Read more
One of the best experiences in Charleston! Went for a lunch and had to wait a bit more than an hour to get seated. Needless to... say that the place was packed and what can I say, for a reason! We enjoyed the seafood selection including the oysters (on thatday a selection of 8 different ones from the east coast), ceviche and the tuna burger, which was absolutely amazing. We finishedwith the key lime pie, which was excellent and well balanced. The service and the drinks were also quite nice and we enjoyedseating in the back courtyard. Read more
The food taste and quality was quite delicious but the quantity was not as good for the steep price. Nonetheless, we appreciate... our very kind and attentive server. We came in at around 10:15 ish so we didn't have to wait in a line at all. We got thelobster roll (nothing terribly out of the ordinary, comparable to other places), the sampler (very fresh), the swordfishpastrami (quite excellent, very different taste), pork taco (pretty good). We so had the pear manhattan and the margarita fordrinks which were pretty decent. Overall, a decent place to try out! Read more
Oh my goodness what a great place! We popped in for lunch and had the best time. I know you?re in an oyster bar, but start with... the guacamole. It is well plated and generously portioned. Complimented with the spicy margarita, this combo is a great way tostart! Of course, you have to have the oysters. We relied on the server?s recommendations and ended up ordering twice. I addedthe shrimp tacos as well. They were equally as delicious. Everyone from the hostess to the servers were friendly, chatty, andfast. The outdoor patio is small and charming. Unfortunately, an afternoon shower surprised us. The server sprinted into quickaction and immediately moved us indoors. This restaurant does not take reservations, so expect a line. Be prepared to wait, butit is so worth it! Read more
