I've gone to this place before and it was outstanding about 6 Mos ago... today I drove from out of town to return for my... birthday dinner and it was disgusting and here's my list of reasons why. Dirty doors and windows, flies flying around inside.The worst was the food. My husband was treating me to steak and lobster and he got the same. The quality of the steak was thelowest cut of steak I've ever seen. I'm talking walmart store quality if you buy the cheapest steak they sale. Then the lobsterwas overcooked to the tenth degree. The salad was iceberg lettuce with no other mixed greens. Nothing was edible from the steakand lobster birthday dinner, and the entire dinner was left there for the trash. There was no manager as one person told me andthat they handle all restaurant issues and took a small portion off our bill which was an employee discount. I should have knownsomething was off as we were the only people there and only one couple came to dine in after we got our meal. This place can'tafford to have quality food because it's not pulling in enough revenue. I feel sorry for the poor waiters etc that will be outof jobs. This is a place that I'll never return or suggest to anyone ti try. My only suggestion is to stay away from this placeperiod. Also as you look at my pictures don't be deceive by the looks... if I tell you the truth that's what went into the TRASHbecause we could not chew it. WHAT A WASTE Read more
Went to this one with a group and that was during the Scarecrow Festival weekend in Chappell Hill, and this place was a great... alternative since the Chappell Hill Bakery & Deli restaurant next door was packed with a line going out the door. We decided wedidn't want to wait, and we decided to walk over and check this place out and believe it or not, there were PLENTY of tablesavailable! My wife and I - and most of the group - decided to order the burger and fries since we didn't really want to orderthe buffet although the food looked pretty good (gotta watch the waistline...lol). We are from the Beaumont area and passing through. The Food is excellent. I had the Grilled shrimp ???? and fish ???? and it... was seasoned to perfection. My husband had fried shrimp and fish and it was fried to perfection too. My baby girl had shrimp???? and she loved it. Great service to add to this experience. Read more
Husband surprised me by stopping here for dinner on Mother's Day. It was fantastic! The calamari was perfectly fried in my... opinion, and served with sweet chili sauce (which I prefer over marinara). He ordered 1 1/2 pounds of snow crab legs with abaked potato, I got mahi mahi with crab and lemon sauce. Both were delicious. This place is now on our list of favorites forwhen we're traveling along 290 in the Brenham/Chappell Hill area. Read more
A&J offers a lunch buffet of seafood and chicken with fresh veggies and some great fries. Location is easy to miss as you... blast down Hwy 290 between Houston and Austin... BUT... it's worth finding and checking it out. Kitchen pushes out some reallygood food and the service is improving.... Read more
