What a great restaurant, one of the best in Chapel Hill. We go there regularly now, and have had only terrific meals. Last night... one of our group had oysters, her go-to appetizer; we all had salads which are original and tasty. The entrees included the fishcatch of the day, pasta and a grilled mushroom plate, all with interesting flavors. There's a good wine list, well priced, andthe service is spot on. We highly recommend them! Read more

Beautiful setting. The food tasted wonderful. Service was okay-ish. Unfortunately, most of the other places in SV are full at... dinner, while M & M tends to err on empty. I hope it makes it. Hearing from other people in the community & neighborhood, theproblem seems to be this: While the food is good, there are not many menu choices. Lots of small plates, but the pricing on themis too much. Most I know want to sub 3-4 small plates instead of an entree. At $13-15 each, you?re only going to get two max andit?s not enough to fill you. They?re too small for an appetizer and too pricey to sub for a meal. Fix pricing or make themlarger. Want to keep the restaurant full? You?ve got to get more families. Look at your target audience- Al?s, THG & LVD arealways full. Even Weaver St is pretty full. Keep the awesome chefs / menu, but just bring it a little more down to earth. Solidhours, solid menu & a bit lower prices or larger portions that families want. I wish them the best. It?s a wonderful restaurant-just seems a little off for a whole neighborhood of people who can literally walk there. Read more

Had dinner for the first time about a week ago with another couple.. Waitress was very knowledgeable (how refreshing is that). ... My wife and I both ordered the Bolognese and a bottle of wine the waitress recommended for the table. I should mention thatwe've stayed in Bologna for a few weeks at a time twice in the last five years so we know what Bolognese should taste like. Thedinner was delicious! The wine paired perfectly. Today, we had brunch - mini biscuits, feather light pancakes, duck stockcheese grits & a shrimp Benedict. Too much food for the two us but the brunch menu is so interesting, it is hard to stopordering. Different waitress today but as knowledgeable and efficient as the first. We'll be back soon. One of the best restaurants I?ve been to in Chapel Hill! I love a small menu because you know everything is made with intention... and everything we got was delicious! The cocktails were interesting, the wine was great, and the food was amazing. We got theoysters the lamb flatbread, the short ribs, and the chicken schnitzel. The short ribs were one of the best meals I?ve ever had.Would definitely go back again! Read more

Overall great experience. The hostess and waitstaff were friendly despite the rush. The ambience is very pleasant with cozy and... elegant vibes. The menu had a strong selection. We ordered bread, soup of the day, burrata, the catch of the day, and a fewdrinks. The waitress forgot our bread but was able to quickly bring it out when reminded, so it came after our two starteritems. The soup was a creamy cauliflower with barley and spinach. Tasty. The burrata came with root vegetables and tastedincredible! So delicious. I finished every morsel on the plate, it was all so tasty. The bread was also wonderful. Warm andsoft with fresh whipped butter. Wow. The catch of the day was halibut and I was disappointed with this dish. It was underseasoned and tasted too ?fishy? with more of an ocean taste than any other flavor. I had two bites and left the rest on theplate. The veggies with it were okay and also a little under seasoned. I was hoping the catch of the day would match thequality of the other dishes I?ve had here, but I suppose they all can?t be winners. The waitress was a tad forgetful and didn?tnotice the untouched halibut dish, but she was busy as it looked like they may have overbooked that night or beenunderstaffed. I?ll return for another catch of the day in coming weeks and update my score accordingly. Til then - it?s still awonderful restaurant absolutely worth visiting. Great attention by the chef. We?ve dined at M&M many times since they opened and it?s always a good experience. This pass visit was on New Year?s Eve. ... Everything was so wonderful, from the atmosphere to the deserts. They had a price fix menu as expected & we had madereservations weeks in advance. It was truly 5 star quality meal. Wait staff was wonderful. Read more

We went to Market and Moss tonight for the taste of summer. We made a reservation for indoors and were seated in the front... vestibule area. The ambiance was nice, however there were a lot of dead bugs along the windowsil (see photo) and the front areais quite loud. We ordered two cocktails and 4 small plates. Unfortunately it took about 20 minutes to get our cocktails afterordering them and one of our plates actually arrived prior to the cocktails even though we ordered the drinks first. I gentlyreminded our server about our drinks and he carried over two sweating glasses immediately from the bar. The food was good, 2 ofthe four small plates we would order again. The portions were very small and 2 small plates per person was not enough to satisfyfor dinner. Our server was nice but he seemingly needed some additional training and did not pre bus plates. Overall we willlikely be back to try again as we live around the corner but for the price of the food and drink a bit more attention to detailand service would be appreciated. Read more
