Reviews for Carolina Brewery in Chapel Hill, NC
Went for dinner on Halloween night around 8pm. The food was good but the person who attended us was in a hurry to finish off and... close the store. As soon as he gave the menu, he said the kitchen would close soon. We wanted to have a relaxed time there whilewe had food but it appears they were closing at 8:30pm and so we had to gobble our food and leave. Overall not a pleasantexperience. Read more
Great place to grab a drink and bite to eat! I walked in and was able to grab a seat at the bar at about 6:15 on a Thursday... evening. The bartender was very helpful, when I ordered the potato chip nachos, she let me know there was a personal sizeportion, not listed on the menu. Glad she did because even that was twice the size I would have planned to order. The mojitowas really delicious also! Read more
Food OK, nothing special, more in line with what you'd expect from a college bar. Nice atmosphere. Enjoyable.
If I were rating the service and beer alone, I'd give 5 stars. I ordered my burger well, well, well done. When delivered, I... was happy to see it was smashed, as certainly it would be easy to cook well done. But on the first bite I knew it was not. Nocrust and the center was a bit pink. No bueno. The fries were good, but were not hot out of the fryer. The service by ourwaitress, Misty, was excellent. She went above and beyond, a very delightful young lady. Being from Oregon, I know my beer, and I would definitely come back for the beer alone, but not the burger. Read more
Carolina brewery in Chapel Hill. We got there early for seats reserved. Got sat right away and it was not very busy when we got... there a little before 6. If you go during any sports game or weekend try to reserve ahead over the phone or online, it's alifesaver when it does get busy. They have small child accommodations with highchairs. Food, Chicken strip breading wasexcellent and fried perfectly. Great crunch and bursting with flavor. Not too oily either but retaining the flavor from the oil.The chicken itself was sub-par and left me looking for more. The chicken did not deserve to be inside that breading. The 'local'burger with the works is always excellent. Supports local farms and farmers. The fries were alright. Also breaded very well buton the thin side for half of mine. One of the orders had fries seasoned heavier than the other which left usconfused. Hospitality, Once we ordered our food we only saw our waiter when he brought it and when we asked for the check. Iwas out of the water just as we started eating and never got a chance to get a refill. The gingerale also tasted a bit off, flat, and carbonated at the same time, plus metallic. Overall, This is a good place to eat. It's right off Franklin and has astellar bar, indoor and outdoor seating, plus a lot of TVs to watch sports on or whatever else. When it gets busy the wait canbe a lot but if you get reservations that makes it pretty fast. Chicken shortages seem to be hitting them but they honestly domake up for it with the breading. I would eat here again and even bring my family. It's a very nice establishment filled withcollege and high school employees. Read more
I got the chicken and waffles for brunch. The service was pretty good. The food came out really fast and my drink was always... kept topped off. The chicken and waffles had a lot of flavor although I would have preferred a slightly crispier waffle. Thebreakfast potatoes were also delicious. Read more
Best bloody Mary. They have a homemade mix and it was excellent. We are going to try to reproduce it at home ???? the beers were... very good. $1 mimosas you cannot beat. It's about a 50/50 mixture of champagne and OJ, so definitely a good deal. We are achicken biscuit here and it was very good. Read more
