Reviews for Chennai Express Restaurant in Chantilly, VA
The ambiance was not comfortable at all. The AC was out and you have to order it in front where they charge you fancy restaurant... prices without any service. The food was really spicy ????????but flavorful. So be careful, try it at your own risk withcaution. I had body sweats eating what I ordered and usually I like to eat spicy. Read more
Went there for lunch before our flight out of DC. It?s a small place but serves great dosas. We had three different types of... dosas and all were good. You have to order the food at counter and they will bring it to your table. Read more
Stopped here on our way back home from the airport?Place looks a bit iffy but we decided to eat as the place was so crowded? I?m... glad we ate here coz the food was delicious. We had masala dosa, medu vada, chicken lollipop and chicken biryani. Chickenbiryani was authentic and medu vada was super light and crispy. You will find a lot of dry snacks for sale as well. The food is really good. This was my first time here. Good South Indian food must try. Fried podi idly is a must try..
Great spot to get your dhosa fix!! The dhosa is massive and cooked perfectly. It has the crispy cracker-like texture you are... looking for on the outside and as you get to the center, its fluffy and pancake-like with the signature tangy taste you get fromthe fermented urad daal batter. I got the masala dhosa and the masala potatoes were perfectly cooked and spiced! It comes withtwo different chutneys - the mint cilantro chutney was bright and refreshing and the peanut chutney was the perfect contrastwith it being spicy, rich and creamy. The dhosa also comes with two lil sides of sambar, packed full of veggies. The sambar is alittle salty, but then again, what sambar isn't! If you're looking for a nice South Indian meal and want to satisfy that dhosacraving you've been having for a while, Chennai Express is the place to go :) Read more
The best goat biryani. Nicely made, home style. Small dine in area. Indian home snacks are available to buy with some stuff to... buy like authentic sesame oil. Restroom and the dine in area is okay, might need rearrangement. Host is good. Read more
Amazing Ghee Masala Dosa. But the prices are way off. 15 bucks with tax for Dosa is too much. The sambar is better than most in... DC area. The chai has too much spice and not enough tea taste. If the price is lowered to the original level then this will beone of the better restaurants in entire DMV Read more
This place is a hole in the wall with no frills. But the food is ???????? super delicious & authentic. Our neighbor had... recommended we try this place & we?ve no regrets. We tried the chicken briyani & chicken chettinad with prontha. Everything wasvery very flavorful & delicious. (I?d only wish they served the hot food in non plastic containers). We?re definitely going backto try their other specialties. Read more
