The food was good, however won’t be coming back in the near future. Management didn’t seem to have a handle on their... restaurant yet. Hopefully it’s just because it’s relatively newly opened. Lights over the tables already have a layer ofdust on them. It took about 10-15 minutes just to get our chips and drink order put in. We ordered a white sangria with a waterand got a margarita with no water. Asked for the hot salsa and that never showed up. We overheard the table next to us that werepromised a manager would come talk to them about an issue with their check and instead the waiter was stuck running back andforth between them 3 or 4 times. We had a taco and enchilada plate ordered with no lettuce and ended up with literally two cupsworth of lettuce on the single taco. Read more
On the positive side, the food was good and the staff was nice, but the wait was far too long. Our waitress explained the... kitchen was behind due to door dash and to-go orders. I'm simply not willing to return to a restaurant where the seatedcustomers have to wait an hour to get food so the restaurant can fill to-go orders. Make your choice, be a sit-down restaurantor a to-go place because you can't do both. We won't be returning here. Read more
We wanted to try this location for a while. We visited in the afternoon, off-peak hours. We were seated in no time, served with... chips and water. The food was delicious and so was the drink, good. Very neat and clean! I have been to other locations, wantedto try this place before I bring larger group. I will be back for sure, and with my family. First experience at this new Macayos! Went for Happy Hour which is only in the large lounge and bar area. Our server was also a... bartender and suggested a handshaken Patron Margarita vs the Happy Hour house Margarita. It was excellent and we only neededone. The draft beers were crispy cold and we shared an enchilada style chicken burro which was also excellent! This facilityis now on our rotation! Read more
I have been eating at Woody Macayo's Mexico Food Restaurant on Central Ave. in Phoenix, AZ since the early 1960's. It was my... Dad's favorite restaurant. When we did construction projects in downtown Phoenix, we would lunch there multiple times a week. When that location closed, we switched to Dobson Rd and the Superstition Freeway. This was my first time at this location inChandler, Arizona. I ordered my regular Macayo's Chimichanga and was not disappointed. They get five stars for good food,acceptable price, friendly efficient service, clean restaurant, and convenient location. Our waiter had no clue about thehistory of his employer, they should work on that. I will be back to try other dishes and hoping the margaritas are as good as Iremember. Read more

Ugh. I said I’d never go back to Macayos after our experience in Tempe, but they opened this one a mile from our house so we... “had” to go try it. There was a wait, which was fine. But the sun was setting and shining right into the windows where youwait, they have no blinds. It also made it very hot and uncomfortable to wait there. It took a while after being seated to begreeted and have a drink order taken. They were ending the dinner rush and we tried to be patient, but it was obvious our serverneeded help. Our drinks came out and then someone else took over to help us. We had 2 baskets of chips and both weren’tcooked/fried properly, they were brought out half cooked and still very oily. The food we ordered was good. I hope they work outtheir kinks, but I won’t be back to support. Oh, and the manager? Just stood there. Waiting for other people to come and workaround him, while his employees were literally drowning. He stood at a table where a large (12 people) party had just exited,watched the busser and a server clean the table and said “y’all are gonna sleep good tonight, huh?” He knew they wereoverworked in that moment and still didn’t give them a hand. Everything about our experience was great! From being seated at a comfortable family friendly booth. The chips and salsa to... start were amazing and kept us busy until our fantastic server Colin was a able to get to us. He was so kind and very attentiveto our needs even though the restaurant was extremely busy.The food was rated by myself, my husband and our 10yr old son asDelicious!!!
