Went there on Friday night for an official date night - dressed up and everything before a show! We had reservations and scored... an awesome corner table at the banquette. We had the prime rib, the cod loin special (with lobster home fries!) and the popcornshrimp as an appetizer. The shrimp were surprisingly large for an app and the sauce was so good, I would put it on everything! Only minor flaw was they were not as crispy as one would expect. My fiance's prime rib disappeared! He loved it and it wascooked perfectly. My cod loin entree was delicious - I can't really describe it but it was huge, meaty cod loin bathed in acitrus butter atop roasted potatoes, leeks and lobster - yum! We saw other people being served bread but it seems our serverforgot about ours. But when requested it came right over with roasted garlic and garlic butter. Maybe better that it came atthe end of the meal or I would have filled up on it immediately! Drinks were spot on, pours of wine were substantial and ourserver, Cole was attentive without being obtrusive. And his assistant/busser whose name I can't remember, hustled the entireevening making sure plates were clear, waters were filled and all patrons were happy. The food here is unfathomably delicious! We had to add Black Jax toour favorite list after the first bite of the appetizers. It makes us question our life choices, why we ever spend money at allthe mediocre steakhouses that disguise as swanky establishments. To start with, the "pop-over" bread came out piping hot withroasted garlic and butter. When we tasted the Shrimp Curry Dumpling Soup (Weekly Special) and 8 Wings (half Buffalo & halfCincinnati BBQ Sauce), we instantly fell in love. Our entrees was 16-oz Rib Eye (we added 3 sauces: Red Wine Demi Glaze, SmokeGarlic Butter, and House Made Steak Sauce), and we wrapped up the dinner with apple cranberry tart for desserts. - Shrimp CurryDumpling Soup: huge portion but we couldn't get enough! Creamy, fragrant, and mouth-watering with fresh sweet shrimp - Wings:crunchy outside and juicy inside. Very well-seasoned 10/10 - Rib Eye (16-oz): extremely tender and tasty, with nice crusts andgrill marks. What an umami bomb! - Apple Cranberry Tart: this easily rivals some of the best bakery that we've been to! Came outfresh from the oven with crispy crust, chewy dough, very well-balanced with fresh apples, cranberry, and vanilla ice-cream. -Rosa Regale: sparkling and refreshing. If I have a chance to go back, I will re-order this glass. The host and our waitress,Evie, were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is cozy and very much in tune with the Black Jack theme. I know this is a steak house but, that?s not all there is too it! If you love a baked potato as much as I do, have a stuffie &... bring your appetite. Delicious ???? & the mashed potatoes ore something to entertain as well, good for sharing, perfect pairingwith all the mains. Every thing I?ve tasted there has been delicious. I honestly rarely ever give five stars because something always goes array, but not tonight. This was a five star place, with... five star tasty food and five star service. It started from beginning when we called to make reservations. Woman told us abouthandicap parking and honestly when I heard Black Jax Saloon I thought a dive bar atmosphere, but pleasantly surprised. It wasbeautiful inside and tables were nicely arranged. Nice Selection of drinks , Wine and Beer. When we arrived we were sat rightaway. The service was top notch, ontop of drinks, water, making sure we were happy at all times without having to wait forsomeone. They start you off with popovers with garlic butter. Yummy! I even asked to take some home. The food was absolutelydelicious, tasty, flavorful. A totally REDO place. I cannot say not one negative thing about this place from beginning to end.Seriously need to come here to eat. Delish! Delish! We definitely will be back and spread the word. What a great spot to eat! We had a large group and made a reservation - the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating for... us. There is a very cozy and upbeat vibe, and the menu has a great range of sandwiches and burgers to steaks, so everyone willfind something they like. Our favorites included: Burnt Ends and Popcorn shrimp for starters, 16oz ribeye and the prime ribsandwich, and the ghost margarita and espresso martini to drink. Read more
