Reviews for Kingston's Steakhouse And Event Venue in Cedar Rapids, IA
Free bread - half of a baguette served with 4 types of butter. It was kind of weird to cut the bread yourself, but it was good!... I personally liked it with the plain butter. Ribeye w/ mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts - steak cooked exactly how I wantedit! Mashed potatoes were really good and I?d get this again as a side. Brussel sprouts were ok. My friend got the broccoli whichlooked good, I think I?d try that side next time! Read more
We went to Kingston Steakhouse for the first time on our anniversary a couple weeks ago and had a great experience. Excellent... service, food, drinks, and atmosphere. We loved the "butter flight" that came before our entrée with a small loaf of crustybread and 4 types of delicious homemade butter. Our drinks were freshly made to order, and our steaks were cooked perfectly. Theonly regret was that we didn't save enough room for dessert. Next time we will for sure! We have only been eaten here once sofar, but I think this may be my new favorite steakhouse in the CR area. Will be back soon! Read more
Wow! My boyfriend and I decided to try Kingston's finally and it exceeded our expectations! The delmonico was the star of the... show, cooked perfectly to medium rare. I thought I might need steak sauce, but after trying a bite, not one drop was used. Theflavor was incredible and the steak melted in my mouth. Another part that we loved was the bread with choice of four differentbutters! It was so delicious that we got some to take home. Near the end, we tried two different desserts. My chocolate cake wasvery rich and moist, and the attention to detail on the strawberry "rose" was another unexpected pleasant surprise. Outside ofthe food, our waitress was highly attentive and kind hearted. We will definitely be coming back. Read more
Let me start by saying I live near Seattle and have eaten at Ruth?s Chris, Morton?s, and other high end steak houses in the... Seattle area. I know steak and for the price, this place is astounding. It is a great value for the money and the beef is abovethe standard that I get locally in Seattle. I was pleased with the final bill and very satisfied with the meal. Our servertonight was very very attentive, quick, professional, and took very good care of us. It was a wonderful evening and I lookforward to coming back soon. The other part I would add (that has no bearing on the rating) is I would standardize the dress ofthe waitstaff and staff. The hostess looked her young age in her trendy pants. I would have cooked the Brussels sprouts a bitlonger and put a char on them. I would serve bowls of that butter with the bread. Amazing. Read more

I would go with a 2.5 star if possible. Order a med-rare porterhouse, came out well over cooked along with being burnt. Sent it... back, got another one, was tempted to send that one back as well. No flavor. Extremely disappointed. The sweet potato fries weregood, the salad was good, chocolate martini and Kingston martini were good. Apparently the table next to us had some issues too.Our service was decent, so that was a plus. Not sure if we'd would ever be willing to try it again. Only reason we went therewas because it was in the old location of the Butcher Block, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Hopefully others have better luck thenus and the table next to use. Read more
It was an interesting experience, we went on a weekday and it wasn't very busy, yet took about 20 minutes to get the martini... ordered about 10 minutes after we were sat. Server was very attentive and nice, seemed to be an issue at the bar, and Mom wasdisappointed it was not served in a classic Martini glass. She had picked out restaurant for my birthday and thought I would befancier. The food saved the experience! Salad was fresh and dressing excellent. Ribeye and filet were well seasoned, cookedpast the doneness we wanted but still good. Fry perfection, and baked potatoe good. Asparagus very woody, but tops tasted good. They were out of house wine, so we got a more expensive bottle and it was a nice cabernet. Carrot cake was yummy. Read more
Came here tonight for my dads 70th birthday. The food was great! That butter tasting bread board was a great suprise and... absolutely delicious. The prime rib oscar style was great although mine was a cooked a bit passed the medium rare that Iordered. The flavor was good enough to make up for it. Those lyonnaise potatoes with onion were delicious! Service was prettygood although a couple things had to be asked for twice. Though it was a 70th bday and we had happy bday balloons on the tablethe server didnt ever inquire as to whose birthday or acknowledge it at all, odd. All in all though the food was great so willbe back. Read more
