When I pick a non-american cuisine I like when it feels like going on a microscopic (mostly imaginative) vacation. Our visit to... Soto gave that little feeling of traveling to Japan. Although I am yet to visit, I imagine it to be a place where food preparedwith care for details, traditions, simplicity of the ingredients, and creativity. I have mixed feelings about this place. Went there to celebrate my birthday. We made an online reservation. Upon arrival, the... host immediately took us to our table and that's where the problems started. When we got to the table, the waiter was sittingon the table. My request to change the table was denied due to the fact that the restaurant is very busy. Although there wereat least 4 tables free and there were no visitors after us. They don't do anything when you come to celebrate special dates. Which is very upsetting. Food was great. Delicious appetizers. The best rolls I’ve ever tried. Drink was ok. Nothingspecial. This is a high end sushi restaurant. Dim lighting, romance atmosphere, dating, gathering, or pathy. There is a vip room. Sushi... is high class and portion is really small. Pricy but very good quality. Very roomy and lots of seating inside. Waiter is slow tobring out food and missing items. Some slight missed calculations. Read more

This is definitely my favorite sushi spot in the Austin area. Everything is so good from the freshness to the service and... ambiance just perfect! I actually work downtown but prefer this laid back location and menu better. They also have new items allthe time, great drinks and daily specials. If you love sushi this is a must try!
