French Dip? Au-jus was black liquid way too much salt. Looked/Taste like Soy and Worcestershire Sauce combined. Roast Beef? ... Ha!... chopped dog-meat. Shrimp Burger... Rubber bites. All TOO SALTED! We had a two hour wait around lunch time for the ferry, what the heck, lets get lunch. This is your standard fried seafood, a... little above average and the service was excellent, hence the four stars. I really enjoyed the soft shelled crab, very goodand hard to find. The fries and onion rings, pretty standard bar food. The okra was decent. One comment, which DID NOTbother me, but really bothered my wife - it seems they use the same frying oil for everything, the fires, onion rings, okra andhush puppies had a fishy fight flavor??. People were really nice and the food was really great, but the prices on the receipt is different than on the menu, website... shows they're open until 12 but went here at 9 and they were putting up the chairs while we were eating, also didn't receive arefill or get offered a drink for the road, overall I would come back, but some improvements are slightly needed. I can?t tell you how much we enjoyed our experience here tonight. Jenny was just amazing. Fantastic personality and she kept... the whole restaurant happy?very efficient. Her Jenny soup was the best I have ever had. It is her version of She Crab Soup. Imean, I have tried She Crab Soup all over. The spicing was perfect, and the creaminess!!!! You MUST try this!! We had softshell crab, shrimp, okra and onion petals. Everything was fresh, cooked to perfection and served beautifully. The attitude ofall of the staff was above all in every restaurant I have been to. I have been to fine restaurants all over the world and thisis on top of the list. If this isn?t enough, Chrystal came over, wowed us with her personality, and found Melody to make usbreakfast the next day before we leave!! I visit Cedar Island every few months and have always enjoyed dining at Bay Breeze. Tonight (8/2/21) I stopped in for "combo of... 2" basket. I selected soft shell crabs and shrimp as my side. I was told by the cashier that there's a $3 upcharge for softshellcrabs AND shrimp although the upcharge wasn't written in the menu and both are listed as options. I was appalled when I receivedmy plate and there were 6 popcorn shrimp, 1 soft shell crab, a side salad, and "fries" that looked and tasted like they were aweek old. I'm used to getting a good serving of fresh seafood (not popcorn shrimp that I could purchase at Wal-Mart) when Ivisit Bay Breeze. That was not the case tonight. I'm not sure if the upcharge was legitimate or if I was charged that becauseI'm not a local and the money went in staffs pocket. Charging an extra $3.00 for ONE tiny softshell crab is insane. Let me notforget to mention that the sanitation grade has dropped to a 91. I'm not sure what's going on at this restaurant, but theydefinitely lost me as a customer tonight. I would drive to Beaufort to get a decent portion of seafood than to spend my money atan establishment that is trying to take advantage of me. I paid $20 for 6 pieces of shrimp and one tiny crab.
